Anyone using magicJack for their house phone service? I just paid $46 for the first year and am about to hook it up and cancel my regular house phone with my normal carrier. Would appreciate any good stories or horror stories. My wife is not thrilled with it, but at $20 per year versus $25 per month, it's a pretty darn good savings.

It has to run through your computer and your computer has to be turned on all of the time, so if there's a power outage, then you can't use it, but that's why we all have cell phones, right?

If you're interested you can Google it or I think they sell them at Radio Shack.

My family is like Dan. no landline. Haven't had a landline since they came up with the family plans About 8 yrs.
You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
