It makes no sense to me to do a deal now and not right in the middle of the draft. Why trade now and let teams adjust their draft board accordingly? They would be better off trading right when it was the Giants turn to pick.

Deal probably would have been contingent on Crabtree being there at 5. Now that Crabtree is off the radar (supposedly bombed the Cleveland visit), sounds like this trade died almost instantly. I don't blame Cleveland one bit, Crabtree comes off as a major tool.

Just my opinion, but methinks that the liklihood of a trade going down for Edwards or Boldin has diminished markedly as teams no longer have 2009 draft picks to use as bargaining chips and those teams that were interested in trading for these WRs may have addressed their WR needs in the draft.

i agree. although you should note that this years draft has been dubbed by many to be one of the worst in recent memory. The Browns/Cards very well might value 2010 draft picks higher than 2009 picks. When there were still 2009 picks to trade away lol.

I'm not expecting the Giants to make a trade at this point but it wouldn't be terribly surprising if someone traded for Edwards or Boldin. Just about everyone thought the Shockey trade was dead because it didn't go down during the draft.
