Steelers open vs the Titans

Personally I was hoping for the Ravens but this is almost as good.. Fatty Lendale White can watch the Steelers gt their rings and we'll see if he wants to stomp on the towel in Heinz.....

The Steelers will kick off the NFL season on Thursday, Sept. 10 against the Tennessee Titans at Heinz Field, team officials confirmed today.

The game will be televised in prime time by NBC.

The Titans had the best record in the AFC last season, and the Steelers finished with the second-best mark en route to winning Super Bowl XLIII.

The traditional Thursday opener is typically reserved for the team that has won the Super Bowl, and the Steelers opened the 2006 season in similar fashion, hosting the Miami Dolphins, after winning Super Bowl XL

I'm glad its the Titans personally. I guess the Ravens were crying to the NFL to not open the season against us. Ill try to find the link and post it.

Correct sir... The Ravens wrote a letter to the NFL asking out of the game . They were originally scheduled to play in it. They said its not fa rthat they have to play prime time games in Pittsburgh every year. What a bunch of pansies!!! What happenned to "Anytime....Anywhere!!" I guess its anytimje, anywhere except Heinz field in prime time....

The fact that they do not want to play us makes me laugh. Don't we play San Diego every year on MNF? Do we complain? No.... its not some backyard football league.... if the NFL wants two good teams on primetime each year then they should play. I don't hear Indy and/or New England complaining about playing each other on primetime each year.
