I didn't know weather to place this in the trade forum or here. But here we go.

Do you think this is a strong draft with elite talent up front or more of a depth draft, I got offered picks number 13 and 15 for my 3.

The league i'm in is also an IDP, so that extends the list of prospects, although I feel my defence is fairly solid.

Welcome to the Cafe ;-D

As a friendly heads up, its often easier to help better if we can review your roster

Personally, I think its a horrible draft class in terms of 'skill positions'

Crabtree looks like an elite WR in the making, but Im not sure RB's Moreno and Beanie would rate too highly in recent years.

As for QB, well I am totally unimpressed with Stafford, Sanchez etc

The draft class of 2009 is stacked with O-Line and defensive players, but sadly they arent of (direct) concern to us.

Of course, there are always stars made from later rounds, but there is no surefire way to unearth them. Overall its a putrid year for fantasy players imo.

Id be inclined to either stick with the #3 pick (Beanie, Moreno, Crabtree) or trade for his 13th pick this year and his 1st rounder NEXT year. (rather than 13th and 15th this year).

Best of luck, and again, welcome to the Cafe ;-D

I wouldnt trade the #3 overall for 13 and 15...no way, no how. There may be some depth but nothing close to the 3rd overall pick. I have the 4th, 6th and 8th in my pool and probably wouldnt trade the 8th overall for that offer....stay put!

My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following:
manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna
andre johnson-edwards-clayton-owens-marshall-jennings
peterson-parker-stewart-taylor-benson-julious jones-graham-micheal bush
danials-winslow-witten
baltimore-chicago.

The league is entering its 5th year, i won it in 2008.

Oh sorry about that, here is my roster. I actually just took over this team and havent done really anything with it yet. I desprately need help at reciever with only two on my roster, but there is one guy that drafts second this year REALLY wants Crabtree so that pretty much eliminates that.

QB - Kurt Warner
RB - Thomas Jones
RB - Ryan Grant
WR - Desean Jackson
WR - Anthony Gonzalez
TE - Vernon Davis
FLEX - Felix Jones
K - Jason Elam

DL - Julius Peppers
DL - Derek Burgess
LB - Ernie Sims
LB - Lance Briggs
DB - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
DB - LaRon Landry
UTIL - Michael Boley
UTIL - Brandon Meriweather

BN - Gabril Wilson
BN - Zach Miller
BN - Channing Crowder
BN - James Hardy
BN - Patrick Kerney
BN - Yeremiah Bell
BN - Richard Marshall

I have my first, second and third round pick.

Looking at your roster, i would keep the 3rd and look to draft Beanie Wells or Moreno and if they are gone take Crabtree or a QB. Hope this helps. ;-D

I agree with the others that I would not trade away my 1.3 pick for 13 and 15.

Thanks for posting your roster. It looks like you could use help at every position, to be honest.

Here's what I would do....

I would look to trade down a spot or 2 and try to get a steady veteran WR as part of that deal. Your WRs are young and definitely have upside, but there is some downside there too... Jackson plays in PHI, which is notorious for spreading the ball around, while Gonzalez is no better than the 3rd WR option (behind Wayne and Clark) in IND.

Then at the 1.4 or 1.5 spot I would take best available talent, likely a RB -- best left of Wells, Moreno, Brown, etc.

I don't think I would drop past pick 1.5 though... at this point, before the NFL draft, there seems to be a dropoff after the first 5 rookies, IMHO. If you can't find a suitable trade with the 1.4 or 1.5 guys, I would stay put and draft the best available player at 1.3.

I agree with the others, hang onto the 3rd pick. Take whoever is left from Crabtree, Wells or Moreno.

Yea now that I think about it, it probably is the best idea. See our league is a 14 team, so it would be the second last pick of the first round, first of the second, and then my third pick of the second round.

I was gonna draft a runningback (kinda whoever fell to me), then hopefully Nicks would be there as well (REALLY like the kids game) and then maybe picking a defensive player to shore up my D.

Keep the 3rd pick.

I wouldn't be crazy about WR's -- even though there will be 5 or 6 picked in the first round. As for Beanie and/or Moreno, I'm hearing Beanie to the Chargers and Moreno to the Eagles as a possibility. That would favour RBBC for them in 2009, while I think whoever the Cardinals pick at #31 overall (Donald Brown?) might pay off early dividends, as he is more likely to be a ful-time starter right out of the gate.

Oh, and I'd take Jeremy Maclin over Crabtree as the top WR to pick, but it's all speculation at this point. I'd favor whatever WR goes to the Jaguars in the first round as opposed to the Raiders.
I have the doomsday device!
