Addai outlook and Trade advice needed asap

Postby cincypalmer » Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:48 pm

I am trying to gather peoples thoughts on Joseph Addai. What kind of year you see him having in 2009?? I have been offered him in a trade and i am very much in need of a running back. Here is the offer and the situations that are present.

My-

Winslow, Parker, first next year (probably 7th or 8th overall) and 8th overall this year.

I recieve-

Addai, Shefftler and 18th overall this year.

It sounds like way too much too me. Also with the 8th overall there will be some qbs present. Probably Hightower, Thomas, Ward and Donald Brown. (all of the roookies running backs except Wells and Moreno.) Should i just keep the pick and take one of those rb's...should i take the trade???

My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following:
manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna
andre johnson-edwards-clayton-owens-marshall-jennings
peterson-parker-stewart-taylor-benson-julious jones-graham-micheal bush
danials-winslow-witten
baltimore-chicago.

The league is entering its 5th year, i won it in 2008.

I would not make this trade. Addai is a good back but not worth the price he is asking. You would be giving up two 1st round picks,Parker and Winslow. In a 8 team league those 1st round picks are quality players

Way too much.

By the way welcome to the cafe.

I think that Addai is being undervalued way too much. He is still young and is the starting RB on a great offense. He could easily top 1,500 yards and 12 Td's this year. It is amazing how people give up on guys after 1 down year.

But, if I were you I would pass on this deal. I would rather have Addai than Parker, but 2 first round draft picks and Winslow is too steep.

Too much, don't do that deal.
I'd be willing to bet he'd take less though?

Help me too? viewtopic.php?t=435909

I agree, people are way to down on Addai. Last year he had a down year mainly due to injury problems, but to write him off like people have is absurd. He is in a run happy Colts offense and is still just 25 years old or so. He has plenty of fuel in the tank.

I'm not saying that Addai is not a good back. He is on a high flyin' Colts offense and is still young although it seems 25yrs old is like an old man for RB's in todays NFL. He is young and talented and in a great situation in Indy however giving up two 1st round picks in a 8 team league is way too much of an asking price.
