Now that New Orleans is saying that Pierre Thomas will be the number 1 tailback this upcoming season, what do you think will be his upside. He was absolutly a top running back at the end of last season, will he continue that? i know there is always a risk of Reggie taking over. I hold the 6th overall pick and am just wondering if he is worth the gamble over guys like Hightower, Ward, Brown and McCoy.

My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following:
manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna
andre johnson-edwards-clayton-owens-marshall-jennings
peterson-parker-stewart-taylor-benson-julious jones-graham-micheal bush
danials-winslow-witten
baltimore-chicago.

The league is entering its 5th year, i won it in 2008.

First of all, where did you see that Pierre is going to be the #1 back? I haven't seen that. It is pretty rare for a team to name a starting RB before training camp even starts.

I think Pierre does have value this season. Reggie is still the man in PPR leagues, but I fully expect Pierre to get the goal line carries. I would take Pierre over all the RB's you listed.

I do think that Pierre Thomas will be the number 1 becasue Reggie has clearly shown that he cannot play 10 games a year. if you own him, which you do, i would dump him while you can. He is going to lose all value once he gets hurt again this year.

I like Thomas NO has a great offense and he will be a big part of it. By Brown do you mean Ronnie Brown? Keep your pick and draft a RB and forget about Addai, Thomas might just have a better year than Addai.

There's been talk the Saints are looking for a 'big back' to replace Deuce. Could be a pre-draft smokescreen, but right now I wouldn't be too enthused about Thomas. It's looking like a RBBC to me.

Here's a link about the possible downturn in Thomas' value from Rotoworld;
