So I was bein' all illegal and tried to watch Taken online (shoot me if you must), and I got myself a doozie of a virus. It not only put this nice little ex down on the bottom right toolbar of my screen that pops up every few seconds saying "you've got a security problem!", but it has now logged me out of the cafe, which is what has me really concerned, much less it's extreme annoying-ness...O I forgot to mention it keeps putting pop ups to a website that it's clearly promoting. What do I do? I'm running an AVG scan but whoopdie freakin' doo, that'll probably accomplish nothing. pleeeeaasssseee help me!
Man that sucks, i've had my fair share of viruses and I don't think theres a real solid way too get rid of them. Hopefully someone else can help. Were you getting it off of like limewire? those places are usually really unreliable, id suggest using bit torrent instead.
If moon was here he'd tell you what to do...I haven't talked to him in ages though. You could check the tech forum at the Home Cafe, and do a search for other threads where people have asked for help with viruses. You could look through GT as well.
Still nothing even remotely close to what PC's get. We have never had a problem with our Mac Book Pro, but our home PC has been infected so many times it's not even funny, and it's actually sitting dormant right now because it's so infected. I will never spend money on anything other than a Mac again.
