I have been offered a trade in my pool. The offer is my Micheal bush and 1.04 for Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts (Handcuff). I was looking for advice on Bush, he did show last year in his last game that he does have talent and he was a monstor in College until his injury. What is Bush's NFL future look like and should i be making this trade. My roster is below.
My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following: manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna andre johnson-edwards-clayton-owens-marshall-jennings peterson-thomas jones-stewart-taylor-benson-julious jones-graham-micheal bush danials-winslow-witten baltimore-chicago.
The league is entering its 7th year, i won it in 2008.
While Bush is intriguing the value of him and the 1.04 is not close to Portis. You can do better. At 1.04 you would be outisde the top 3 which is average this year. Bush has talent but is in a crowded backfield on a bad team.
So what your saying is i should take the trade, lol. I am the one that has the pick and Bush. HAHAHA. Thanks for the advice though anyway. How many years do you think Portis has left in the tank??
He's an old 27. I can see the Skins going the way of the rest of the NFL and spelling him alot more over the next few years with a RBBC of types but I would say he is good for top 12 numbers (barring trade or major injury) for the next 3-5 years.
Yes, I would do the deal as is but I would also try and see if you can get back into the first round somehoow for this year. There are several interesting picks that could turn into the Chris Johnson.
I have the 1.06 and the 1.08, who do you suggest i take with those picks? Hightower, Thomas and Ward are also not drafted in are pool.

While I do like Portis, he is old for his age and has alot of miles on him already. Could you trade Bush and a draft pick for him, possibly, but I think I would rather have the young draft pick and then hope that Bush is traded by Oakland.
Even if it is a combined rookie/FA draft (which makes the 1.04 just that much more valuable) I would still pull the trigger on this deal. You have picks 1.06 and 1.08, you should have a chance at some promising rookies or free agents that are available.
I acknowledge that M. Bush is talented, but fantasy football is 50% talent, 50% opportunity. As was pointed out, Bush plays in a crowded backfield on a bad team.
You give up Bush and the 1.04 you gain the WAS backfield in exchange -- good trade.
I'd much rather have Bush and that 1.04 then Portis, Bush could get traded during the draft and end up being very productive somewhere, he may not produce as much as Portis next year but he has so much more long term potential...Judging by how many trade attempts/rumors surround Bush already I think it's likely he gets moved, or Fargas gets moved so he has a shot to produce.
If you own 1.06 and 1.08 I'd try and package them for a veteran RB that is starting, but I'd keep Bush and rather just draft all 3 rookies at RB and see what you end up with.

In a 8 team league those first round pick are nice to have. I don't think much of Bush, he will never become a full time back in the NFL as far as I'm concerned. I would maybe try to lower the draft pick to the 1:08 and Bush and try to preach that Portis is on his last leg and that the 4th overall is a no-go. You'll consider the 8th and see what he says if he hesitates then say ok ok I'll give you the 1:06. You can use the help at RB and Portis still has some value.
You seem very eager to make a move as I have noticed in your other posts concerning other backs. I think it's too early in the year to make any big trades and allways tell people to wait and see what happens a lot can happen from here to opening kickoff. Your draft is most likely not until the end of August, wait and see what happens in camp and who gets drafted by who that way you have a better ideal of what your three 1st rounders will be worth and have a better idea of what to do. Let's say Chris "Beanie" Wells gets drafted by the Saints his value will not be as much as opposed to if he goes to the Browns so I suggest be patient and see what happens I know we all have the itch but early trades often turn into disapointments.
