It is offical, Cutler and a 3rd for Orton and 1st in 09' and 1st on 10'. So what does this do to Cutlers value and Ortons value?? I would have to think that Cutler goes down somewhat with no proven wr there and Orton's value has to go up now that he is in the NE system that made Matt Cassell a top player. Any thoughts??

Orton...top-10 QB for sure with Marshall, but as of today, I'm looking elsewhere I think.
The guy to draft is FORTE!
Draftable? that's the best you've got to describe a guy that put up phenomenal numbers last year? I mean clearly the situation is not as good, but he has a TE that has just as much if not more potential, a blazing fast although raw WR to hit deep with his cannon arm and a very good pass catching RB...
...I have to say I'm quite confused by that last sentence of yours...

Rivers had all that and more two and three years ago and sucked. It was only last year that he became "fantasy worthy."

My thinking is that Culter and Ortons value are going to be pretty close by years end. Does that mean that Orton is as good as Cutler, no, but he will be in a great system and has two top targets. I can easily see them both being anywhere from 7-15th ranked qb's at years end. Orton started out last year and was having a great year until he hurt his ankle and rushed back from it, and that was with no top notch wr, not even a decent wr on there team. With the new system I can see him really excelling in the NE system and putting up big numbers and he really has a big upside. Cutler will now have two things he has never had before, a running game and a decent defense. His only problem, and a big problem is that he has no weapons on that team other than Forte. There top wr is Hester who is really a #3 slot wr, but I can see there te having a big year this coming season. I can see his numbers dropping this year and him being somewhere between 10-15th ranked qb at years end.

Given the lack of targets and the run-centric offense, Cutler drops behind Brees, Manning, Rivers, Brady, Warner and Rodgers, IMHO. No Bears QB has ever thrown for over 4000 yards and that's unlikely to change as long as Hester and Olson are Cutler's top targets and Forte is around to the carry the ball 25+ times a game. A big part of Cutler's numbers in 2008 was the complete lack of other offensive options. Who was Shanahan going to give the ball...Tatum Bell? Patrick Hillis? Terrell Davis?
Orton becomes a borderline top 10 QB with McDaniels as his mentor and Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal and Brandon Stokley to throw to. I would not be surprised to see Orton and Cutler wind up with similar numbers. That's not to say they're equal players, but the system they play in has a huge impact on their statistics if not their effectiveness.
The Bears have been a ground and pound team, but I am sure they will work on an air game. As mentioned, the Bears have never had a 4k passing offense. In my lifetime, the Bears have never had a true elite QB. It has never been thier game. They will not go this far to get Cutler to run the ball all the time. I see alot of play action in his future. Cutler has an advantage in that they can't key on him now w/ Forte in the backfield.
Earl Bennnett (WR) was a teamate of Cutlers in college and I think he was an early pick w/ alot of promise for the bears. There are a few veteran Wr's out there, I think they would be fine if they just aquired one more Wr. Also, Forte is a very good option out of the backfield w/ nearly 500 receiving yards last year. As mentioned Olson is bound to reap some benefits here, he has been touted as the TE of the future and now he has all the tools to get him there. I am also concerned w/ the Wr situation, but if anyone can make something happen then it is Jay Cutler. Do I think Cutler will take a hit? Of course he could lose some numbers, but he and Orton will not finish w/ comparable numbers in the end.
Orton will be without Marshall for a decent part of the season (inj/susp), and they have been talking about getting rid of Sheffler. This leaves a young Eddie Royal. The coaching staff has the team disguntled, and much of the cohesion is gone. Orton is not walking into all that great a situation either.
Cutler is the kind of guy that makes things happen. It may take a year, but Cutler will be airing the ball out.
