Same here. ;-D

+1

He had a great enthusiasm for the game that translated nicely as commentary.

Same here. I know a lot of people don't like him, but I always liked Madden as a color commentator. I'll never forget when he 1st used the telestrater to help descibe the turducken on Thanksgiving. That cracked me up. :-b :,-(

Indeed, Thanksgiving will not feel the same without the sounds of Madden and his turducken coming from the living room while I stuff my face.

Enjoy retirement John. You've certainly put in the time.

I think Collinsworth has gotten a bad wrap for some reason. He may have a semi-annoying voice but he is quite knowledgeable about the game. I think somebody mentioned that he was simply a "yes-man" which is not true at all. Obviously he wont be able to replace Madden as a color guy and his chemistry with Michaels may not be anywhere near what Madden and Michaels had, but don't knock the guy just because he has to replace the most decorated broadcaster of all time. Collinsworth is one of the few broadcasters who caters towards fans who know the game. He wont say stupid stuff that we already know constantly.

I don't doubt Collinsworth's football IQ, he knows what he's talking about for the most part. The reason I don't care for him is he just comes off as smug to me. :-?
