Why not just have the FA and rookie draft at the same time?

We do that in the Flex league but just not my favourite thing. Rookie drafts are rookie drafts.

ahhh... misunderstood. IN the flex league the rookie and FA pool is combined and it is not really my favourite thing. Yes, in the future, we can run both at the same time.

If we are adding 3 extra roster spots, is it possible to do the FA draft this year only until no one wants to pick anymore, with the assumption drops are due shortly thereafter? I have no rookie picks and would like to at least fill out my roster.

I think teams who need to fill their roster will continue with the adds, at least that's my understanding...I am far behind in filling up my roster at this point, especially with the jump in roster size.

That is correct. Once the rookie draft is over, we will ahve a snake FA draft where ALL players are available. You will draft until your 28 man roster is full. Should you choose t select a player in the FA draft and your roster is at 28 , you will need to make an immediate cut. Once your roster is full and you are done drafting, when it is your turn to draft you will simply post that you forfeit all future picks.

Just wanted to clarify something-
are TD returns (punt, kick) awarded to the player, or the defense/special-teams?

Edit- and, did we decide picks in the extra-rookie/FA draft (supplemental) are trade-able?
