I am in one other dynasty with some history. Year 5 was last year... overall record... 56-19
at final standings...2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st. Was #1 in points and record for the first 3 years... when I started finishing the regular season in 2nd was when I started winning championships.
Someone on here had a great quote... it takes skill to make the playoffs every year, it takes luck to win a championship. Now, there are days I would sell my mother for some luck in this game though.
It was a really hard deal to make... always think... well what if Wells and ??? go nuts, what if they are legit, what if what if what if?
Anyways, I think I am done with trading, too much thinking.
Changed the title a bit as I want you all to feel free to post any changes, tweaks whatever you may have ideas about.
I am in a pitched battle as commish in another league over changes. Partly my fault as I usually adhere to the 1 year rule in dynasties that any major incoming rule should not go through until the following year. Even minor changes I generally prefer to wait.
So, one issue I have with this setup is the roster sizes... I am a firm believer that in dynasties it is 60% spotting talent, 20% the art of the trade and 20% the waiver wire. I think rosters should be deep enough to hold onto that draft pick for 2-3 years. I have painfully had to give up players like Owen Daniels, Donnie Avery etc... to hold onto the Michael Turner in other leagues.
I don't think the format on how to increase rosters is much concern to me, if you have any specific ideas, please post them.
My first thought is 2 parts... increase the rosters by 2 each of the next 2 years. Then on top of the 4 round pure rookie draft, have a 2 round free agent draft in say July. Flea accomodates 30 man rosters and up to 32 if you count IR.
Just an idea but I have never been overly fond of the mass wasiver wire claim at the start of seasons.
You could sign me up twice for full size rosters, last year I ended up having to drop a few players I don't want to name that are on somebody else's roster right now...I understand that's apart of it but I feel like we couldn't stash deep sleepers that may of been a few years away so it's something I would be definately in favor of.
That sounds about right in terms of how to increase it yearly, 32 just sounds like music to my ears though, so I'd be all in favor of adding two...I had the same talk with my dynasty leagues about increasing roster sizes this year.

The thread is titled "Rookie Draft" and I think thats what we all understand it to be. Now, we can certainly change that and/or hold a quick, reverse standings, 2-3 round FA draft...
But this season it is definitely rookies only.

And I'm one of them. In fact, you'd need to argue very well to get me to even consider it being only a rookie draft. What's the point of a 29-round draft, then?
