1 pt for 10 yds receiving and rushing 1 pt 25 yards passing
My roster:
Manning, Eli NYG QB Pennington, Chad MIA QB Young, Vince TEN QB Dunn, Warrick FA RB Forte, Matt CHI RB Johnson, Rudi DET RB Jones, Kevin CHI RB McClain, Le'Ron BAL RB Portis, Clinton WAS RB Breaston, Steve ARI WR Clayton, Mark BAL WR Ginn Jr., Ted MIA WR Jackson, DeSean PHI WR Jenkins, Michael ATL WR Lloyd, Brandon CHI WR Nelson, Jordy GBP WR Thomas, Devin WAS WR Walter, Kevin HOU WR Washington, Nate TEN WR Olsen, Greg CHI TE Watson, Ben NEP TE Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK Panthers, Carolina CAR
With your roster I would be picking Crabtree but I would also be trading down to 1.02 or 1.03 if I could. I expect Wells and Moreno to go 1/2 in almost all leagues.
At this point I say the pick is Beanie Wells. He's in the best spot to start, and there's very little reason to favor any RB over another. Everyone else is very unproven.
I agree that Beanie is the pick here. You can start up to 3 RBs... Beanie, Forte, and Portis is a pretty strong corps of RBs. And you really really need the depth at RB... I don't think you can take Crabtree here.

Your greater need is at WR (starting DeSean Jackson, Kevin Walter, and Steve Breaston?). I'd probably still take Wells over Crabtree at 1.01, but it's close. I agree with bungle, if you can trade down a couple spots and get an upgrade on one of your current WRs, even better.
Well to me your team has a lot of holes to hill, your only quality player is Forte. I would look at is just like a normal team would in a draft, trade down and get as many picks as you possibly can to rebuild your team. I would look to see what you can get for Breston, Portis and possibly even Olsen and build from there.
I would take Moreno #1. He should start in Denver right away. Wells will share time and possibly lose some goal line carries to Hightower. Plus, he couldn't make it through a college season healthy. I have a hard time seeing him make it through a very difficult 16 game NFL schedule.
If I were u, I would look to trade down to #2 or #3. If someone really wants one of the big 3, you might be able to get a good deal.

I remember this same argument with Peterson vs. Lynch a few years ago. AP couldn't stay healthy. He's going to lose carries to Chester Taylor.
I'm not saying that Beanie is AP, but it is my belief that Beanie is the best rookie RB talent-wise. I believe that Hightower's impact on Beanie's carries will be minimal, and I believe that a strong RB can be golden in a passing attack such as Arizona's. Moreno has a more crowded backfield to contend with, and is playing with a new QB. Just my 2 cents on Beanie vs. Moreno.
I know this is an old thread, but the Beanie Wells missing too many games theory is crap. He missed 3 games in 3 seasons at Ohio State, people. That's NOT injury prone.
The point earlier in the thread about the injury hand-wringing with AD 2 years ago is eerily similar, I agree.
Geez, and Hightower stealing carries? I really don't think so. The Cards practically GAVE the starting job to Hightower in 2008, and he lost it all on his own. To Edge, a guy the Cards have since released. What does that tell you about Hightower? He's a 5th round pick that plays like one.
As for goal-line work, Beanie Wells is 235 pounds. I think he can handle the goal-line himself. I'm not saying Hightower won't get some carries on short-yardage and inside the 20's -- but come on. These are not good arguments against drafting Beanie Wells.
His proportions remind me of Jerome Bettis, and ex-Steelers OC Ken Whisenhunt is calling the plays in '09 with Todd Haley departing for KC.
Why would anyone not like Wells? Because he was the 31st pick? Remind me where Matt Forte was picked in the NFL Draft a year ago? (Second round).
It comes down to situation and opportunity. Wells has a good situation with very little competition for carries on an offensive juggernaut team.
He by far has the smallest amount of risk and the greatest upside of any of the rookie RB's this year. Any of Knowshon Moreno, Donald Brown, LeSean McCoy and Shonn Greene could be more productive, but they all have risks greater than Wells coming into the season. Unless a starter is cut or gets injured for the other four guys, Wells is in the best spot.
And, you've got to like Arizona's Fantasy playoff schedule of @ SF, @ DET and vs. Stl weeks 14-16.
Gotta take him in the 1.1 slot if nothing changes this summer.
