Who would you sledct in a dynasty first??? Greene or McCoy. Note: I also own Thomas Jones.
My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following: manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna andre johnson-edwards-clayton-owens-marshall-jennings peterson-thomas jones-stewart-taylor-benson-julious jones-graham-micheal bush danials-winslow-witten baltimore-chicago.
The league is entering its 7th year, i won it in 2008.
I would probably go with McCoy over Greene. McCoy is a more shifty back that has good vision. Greene is a power runner that won't be able to get around the corner. Even though Greene is the expected replacement for TJ I still don't see TJ going anywhere for a few years. McCoy will be behind Westy in an offense that passes to backs. I feel McCoy has a better chance to succeed and will get some snaps.

I don't know about a few years, TJ is already 31 years old, if they felt he had that long I doubt they move up and mortage the rest of their picks since they do still have Leon...TJ may not even finish this season as the starter, and Greene is in a good spot being that Rex Ryan plans to run, run, and run all year with a rookie QB, Greene figures to be a big part of that.
I don't think you can go wrong with either guy, Greene will get all the goal line work and should rack up plenty TD's, McCoy will rake in plenty of passes and he's the perfect Philly RB...Depends on your preference honestly, I'd roll with McCoy because I feel like he is much more talented then Greene, but both are solid picks.

This pretty much echoes my sentiments...I like both guys but McCoy more overall. I expect Jones to factor in a good deal this season and probably head out after this year (assuming Green looks good) to allow him and Washington to split time and take over that running attack. Westbrook hasn't been the most durable of backs over the years and the depth chart is pretty slim outside of him and McCoy so it's not crazy to think that he could have a big impact both this year and beyond as a pretty versatile back in the Philly offense.
I would grab greene. Having Thomas Jones makes it a foregone conclusion in my mind. I think Greene will play alot, right away. Why wait for Mccoy to develop. Mccoy is the better prospect in my mind, but Greene is almost guaranteed to play now. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if NY released Jones.

Maybe so, but he's only really played 3 years of college ball, with only one year of real full time duty as a RB, which is a lot less than many other RBs going into the NFL. His age shouldn't be an issue.
That said, I agree with LS2throwed about going with McCoy slightly over Greene, though I wouldn't fault you for taking Greene as the heir-apparent to TJones. Ability-wise and situation-wise I'd prefer McCoy. Philadelphia's offensive system is already set up if McCoy ends up being Westbrook Jr.

Maybe so, but it will drastically affect his trade value in what for most RBs would be the prime of their career.
Take Ronnie Brown for instance, if he were 24 right now instead of about to turn 28 his trade value would be astromically higher. If he had come into the league at 21 he would have been sitting in the former category, instead he is about to turn 28 which seriously limits his value.

Yes that is true. But at 24, you'd figure a RB has 5 or 6 good years of production left, which is too far for me to consider in a dynasty/keeper league (vs at 21, he'd have 8 or 9 years). At 28, he has maybe 1 or 2 good years, which affects his value to a much greater degree. The difference between 5-6 years and 8-9 years isn't enough to downgrade a RB from when he's first entering the NFL. If I can get 5-6 good years of production from a RB, it's less important to me that I get good trade value from him toward the end of his career.
In any case, although I mentioned age, my point was more toward the wear-and-tear that a RB has been through prior to playing in the NFL.
By the way, your sig always reminds me of the Geico wad of money. I play that Rockwell song in my head whenever I see you post.
