Keeper Question

Postby beaksmang » Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:01 pm

So I've been mulling this over and over, want to get a little advice before it gets too close to keeper time.

In a 12 team standard scoring league (not a ppr league, 4pts for passing td, 6pts for rushing/receiving td, 1pt/10yds, no escalators) with two keepers I have LDT, Chris Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Steve Slaton and Drew Brees. Which two do I keep? I'm going back and forth and back. That's my top 5, but also to consider: Dwayne Bowe, new QB no TE to take his red zone looks, and really no 2nd receiver. Any insight would be fabulous

My gut says go with Chris Johnson and Calvin Johnson but it is a keeper so youth doesn't carry as much significance. I wouldn't keep Brees or Slaton. It would be between LT, CJ2 and Megatron. LT will likely be drafted before Chris Johnson and will probably put up more points next year.

I see your delemna. Tough choice.

That is fairly tough. Really tough to throw CJ back in the mix but I think you have to. YOur best 2 players for this next year are Chris Johnson and LT2. With luck, you can get Calvin back on your roster but I don't highly that you will get either LT2 or Chris J back unless you draft in the first 3-4 picks.

I would keep Chris Johnson and Calvin Johnson. LT's days of an elite RB are over. Keep these 2 young studs.

I am leaning towards the CJ's but at the same time, LDT was hurt all season, could he have a bounce back year? he's only 30... thanks for the ideas.

30 is old for a Rb. Especially one that has had as many touches as LT.
