Potential Keeper/Trades

Postby avslpfan81085 » Sun May 03, 2009 1:04 pm

I know it is still a little too early to make my final decision on my keepers, but I'm going to try to shop around a couple of my guys to try to get draft picks for the draft this year.

My potential keepers include: RB Matt Forte (CHI), RB Marion Barber III (DAL), RB Joseph Addai (IND), WR Andre Johnson (HOU), WR Roddy White (ATL)

Currently I'm thinking of going with Forte and either Johnson or Barber. I don't think I can keep Addai because our league rules state we can only keep players twice, and I think I've already kept him twice. I was thinking about shopping Addai and which ever of Johnson/Barber I decide not to keep for some draft picks. What do you guys think and who do you think are the best bets?

I also have Barber and A.J.

Go with Forte and A.J. without hesitation. Dallas is a question mark, and Addai has company too. R. White had a banner year, but let's see another before we crown him a fantasy stud.

you can actually trade players that you are not keeping? In our league, you can only make trades (before the draft) with players that we kept from the previous season.

Unless your saying that you can keep four, but you are thinking of trading two away for draft picks. If that's the case, I'd still have to keep three of those guys. M. Forte, A. Johnson, and R. White. That would be the core to a VERY solid football team. I'd take whatever I could get for Addai and be glad to be rid of him....well, anything 1st - 4th round.

He can only keep 2...

I'd go with Forte and AJ as well...I'm not huge on Barber personally and so with Forte being automatic, keeping a top 3 WR in Andre Johnson is a no-brainer.

I forgot he had Barber listed. But it sounds like Barber is going back into a time share like he had with J. Jones. So I wouldn'd keep him.

Forte and AJ is my vote but it is fairly close between J and Barber.

Thanks for your help everyone... i think you just cemented my decision for the most part.

Oh, and yeah, we can trade anyone on our team... we don't have to select out keepers from the year before until the week before our draft, so we can trade players straight through the offseason. Kind of keeps some things interesting and us still talking fantasy football when there isnt any. Also makes people start picking up random players that might be used for trade bait, such as released players or players on IR.
