First Mock in 2 years, be honest.

Postby mrblitz » Sun May 03, 2009 8:04 pm

This was the first mock draft I've done in 2 years. I still have some reading up to do on some players and teams. Please give me your honest opinion on how you think I did. This was a 10 team mock on Fantasyfootballcalculator.com. Actually had live people, who picked somewhat normal. I had pick number 5.

RD1-Steven Jackson-RB
RD2-Frank Gore_RB
RD3- Dwayne Bowe-WR
RD4-Greg Jennings-WR
RD5-Willie Parker-RB
RD6-Chad Ocho Cinco-WR
RD7-Donovan McNabb-QB
RD8-Cedric Benson-RB
RD9-Hines Ward-WR
RD10-Heath Miller-TE
RD11-Matt Hasslebeck-QB
RD12-Todd Heap-TE
RD13-Devery Henderson-WR
RD14-Tennessee DEF
RD15-Mason Crosby-K

Only things I can pick out:

1. You picked up Benson WAY too high.
2. Devery Henderson isn't worth drafting.
3. Taking two tight ends? I'd have handcuffed one of your backs (most likely Parker) before getting a backup tight end.

I'm not up to speed with player values this year though, so I don't know what to say about everyone else.

Round 8 is too high for an unquestioned, featured, starting running back?

I know it's Cedric Benson, but the above alone will have him going in the top 5 rounds come August. Round 8 is a steal.

Whoops. I mixed Benson up with Kevin Jones. Never mind.

I haven't done a 10-teamer in a few years, but-
1) like the Benson pick. As Bagel said- unquestioned starter is a steal that late in the draft.
2) Devery Henderson ain't worth doo-doo.
3) Like the depth- Willie as RB3, Ocho Cinco as WR3, Ward backing him up if he doesn't perform.
4) Great starting RB duo.

I agree with all of these points. I just really doubt that Gore would get back to you in the middle of the 2nd round in a real draft.

well it appears that i'll be the first to say it, nice mock ;-D a few things i'll point out are pretty much the same as what you've been hearing

1) Gore will never last till pick 15. But nice presence of mind to see that he was still there
2) Benson at 8 was a bit high. Although i dont "Hate" this pick like many others do. He ended last year nicely and is a nice #4 back on anyones roster
3) Ward is like Gore. In most drafts i doubt he'll make it to round 9. Again great presence to see that and snag him at 9.
4) No reason to draft 2 TEs. Specially Heap who sucked last year, and they also added LJ Smith.
5) Love the McNabb AND Hasselbeck picks. Its not much of a sleeper pick, but i have McNabb projected in the Top 5 QBs this year. And Hasselbecks still a wild card. But one that i'd love to have in my hand

There's also the "Experts Mock" Draft that can be found on the Football Homepage of the Cafe that you can see how some of us valued players
Eastmont League 10-3 (2nd Seed)
Wenatchee League 9-4 (2nd Seed)
Urine Trouble League 6-7 (6th seed boooya!!!)
