The Ironic thing is this is the team I made up in the distribution draft of Any Given Dynasty with a combo of both of your teams and Canucks. At least I think it was both of your teams.
Tough situation which is why I came here. I personally don't like the deal and feel giving Colston is a too much. As mentioned it defeats the purpose because I might not be able to replace the points he would have put up but gain at RB. But if LT can comeback like he says AD and him would be a terror. The difference between Benson/Mcgahee and LT is huge. More than the difference between Colston and Holt, Camarillo, or Crayton. The real question is do I try and win now or try and keep building for a year or so to get me over the top.
Rackin my brain.
Thanks everyone. Feedback left.
I don't think you are an LT away from winning so would contiune to build. Tehre are 2 teasm that are dominant in that league and with luck, you could take them in the playoffs but it would need a hot team. LT's track record in the playoffs is mediocre. This last year, current year and probably next year is when you must sell LT in a dynasty to get anything of value for him. The other guy is simply doing that. Moss is fine for 2-3 more years, pair him up with AD and Colston is a good start. Personally, I would be looking at selling off some hot pieces over the season to get you younger. That is what I tried to do but made 20+ offers and not one was accepted and only 1 countered that was a ridiculous counter. PArt of the reason I left was the lack of trading, the website and really, the biggest reason... too many leagues.
This is better because at least I keep a 1st rounder but will it do the trick? I feel this improves my RB situation significantly but hurts me less at WR. With the 1:12 I can still grab a WR to build on or try and trade up.
I could counter with 1:5, Colston, Mcgahee, and Miller/Shockey for his LT and 1:7. He needs a TE and I have a plethora of them. With the 1:7 I am pretty much guaranteed to get Harvin, Maclin or Nicks.
I personally am still torn.

I like deal 2 much better. I may be the only fan of McGahee left as I still like him as a RB although the stats should tell me different but I am stubborn. Although, I would be slightly tempted to try 1.12 and his 2.07 with just the first deal, no TE thrown in. I have Iglesias ranked at 2.07 which honestly, is as much of a crap shoot as the 1st round WR's.
i dont like either of these offers. mainly because i wouldnt want LT, especially in a dynasty. ive been burned by aging RBs too many times. LT will be only good for a few games, and hit or miss most of the year. Sproles will mooch alot of carries to try to "preserve" LT and you dont want that frustration, and thats not to mention LT is a huge injury risk in 09. id rather take a chance on a rookie RB than LT in 09. Colston is playing in a pass happy O with Brees, was injured last year so people have forgotten his value. You do need a RB2, but there's plenty of time before the season. keep shopping, at the least you should be able to bump up 2-3 draft places and grab a starting rookie RB...just my 2 cents.
ps: i had LT and AP last season and thought i would walk into the superbowl. Every week was a crapshoot and i got beat in round 2. LT is not the old LT that we know and love. Think more on the lines of Edgerin james, Shaun Alexander, Rudi Johnson, Deuce Mccallister...ok, better than those guys but they should scare you away from LT

I am also agaisnt the trade but LT was the 6th best RB in PPR and 7th best in non PPR last year. It wasn't LT that lost you the championship.
Yes, he did get me beat. He was very hit or miss last year. and only had about 2-3 big games and several more clunkers than that. Average them out and his totals arent bad, but when you're playing week to week and especially during playoffs, those clunkers get you beat. Consistant point production is more valuable than total point production. My opinion is that LT is on the downhill slide and last year was only the beginning. take it for what its worth.
edit: ok, maybe he didnt get me beat all by himself, but when you're investing a top pick in a rb, you need better production from him. I wouldnt draft LT until about round 3 this year, and he'll be gone before i have to. As for a trade, i would anly trade for him if the price matched the value. he'd be great to have as a RB3 that you could play according to his health, but not as RB1 or RB2 every week.

I gave that a shot and he came back with 3:7. I'll probably just stay put. I have another possible deal to get Derrick Ward but I would end up trading my 1:5 and a player for his 1:8 and Ward. Still in the works.
Thanks all for the help.

Just keep in mind that if you trade behind 1.06 your not going to get a solid RB anymore, that's the last spot that would have a decent back, I'd be trying to land another RB while staying in the top 6 picks of the draft to still land Shonn Greene or Lesean McCoy.

Exactly. That is the downside to the Ward trade. I gain at RB but lose enough spots in the first to essentually assure I don't get the top 4 backs.
