Alright, so I just finished my first mock of the year over at fanasyfootballcalculator.com. The mock consisted of 10 teams and standard scoring and rosters (minus the flex). Would-be opening week starters are listed in bold. Are there any comments/suggestions you'd like to make? Thanks.
QB- Brees, Delhomme RB- AP, FWP, McClain, McGahee, Mendy WR- Steve Smith, Housh, Anthony Gonzo, Berrian, Branch TE- Cooley D/ST- Green Bay K- Neil Rackers
I didn't place as much importance in securing top running backs in this mock. But I still figured that if AP stayed healthy I'd have 3 team's starting running backs with favorable schedules. If this were a real team, I'd play match ups with my D/ST and K.

Strong QB's certainly! I get the McGahee/McLain handcuff, but I might've forgone the Willis pick if a top 4 TE was within reach - after them TE's are pick-'ems. If that's Deion Branch bringing up the rear of your WR squad, be advised he has a Negligent Homicide rap hanging over him for a fatal hit-and-run. Also, congrats: You've stumped me on "FWP" (unless it's Willie Parker with a certain exclamation added )! If you have a sec, educate me on that.
Overall, considering your comment about de-emphasizing the stud RB's, my instinct would be to load up on more WR trade-bait than you've listed. A serviceable draft, but probably much work on matchups.

FWP = Fast Willie Parker, so you got that right.
As for Willis, I drafted him after I drafted Cooley, so it's not like I was passing over any "elite" tight ends. I may have gone a little overboard on the handcuffs, but I guess I'd rather have the insurance then to take a guy like Hightower who more often then not won't help me much.
I feel fairly confidently with the WR situation on this team. Then again, I'm higher then most on Housh this year.

Overall, very nice. Alot of people don't seem to be too crazy about FWP. I am not one of them. So with that said, nice pick up. I also love Housh. Matt has to stay healthy, and if their running game is good, that means loads of balls heading Housh's way.
Overall, I like your squad. I love Brees and ADP (who doesn't) just be wary that your team WILL be a roller coaster all season long. Brees, ADP, and Housh will be consistent forces all season long (i think Housh is legit too) BUT Stevey Smith, FWP and Cooley... etc. are very up and down. They will win you games with 30+ weeks while lose you some with 3-4 pt. weeks. Nice talent... if the consistency is there you got a real winner.

Thanks a lot!
I don't think that if this was a real team that I'd be too worried about consistency as I'd be able to rely on AP and Brees week in and week out. Also, I don't think there would be too many weeks in which both S. Smith and Housh put up clankers. Furthermore, I don't think you're ever going to be able to draft a team that doesn't have at least a couple of bad weeks during the season.

I agree. I like ADP, Brees, and Housh for their consistency... I was just saying for arguement's sake S. Smith, FWP, Berrian, Cooley, and even McGahee are severe up-and-down guys. Good luck... overall a very solid draft for the first mock of the year.
