Postby weazel8 » Mon May 11, 2009 2:13 pm

how many teams are in your league? it looks like your roster has a lot of holes, and i dont see westbrook or portis getting you to a championship. it seems to me like you are in a re-building phase and would be better served to keep multiple picks.

Agreed, dealing for veterans is not the way to go for your team. Build with youth. If you can get a young RB then I have no issues dealing the 1.04 or 1.08 but you need to get good young talent for those picks whether it is RB or WR, just young and as sure a long term FF contributor as possible.

That's definitely a tough question.

Although you didn't post the number of teams in your league, it looks as if you're in a rebuilding phase. Under these circumstances I would normally suggest keeping the picks, but not having a pick in the top 3 makes things interesting. There's a chance that you'll miss out on the big 3 at RB (Wells, Moreno, and Brown). If that were the case, pick four wouldn't really help your team at all (running back is clearly your most pressing need).

I guess what it all comes down to is whether or not you think one of the teams picking 1-3 will draft Crabtree. If you think they'll all just take running backs, I think I'd make the deal for Westbrook. If push comes to shove, you can always deal Westbrook to a contender at the trading deadline and stockpile picks for next year.

Your team isn't that bad. You need RBs. You've got 5 mediocre ones. If 2 pan out you'll be good. But the rest of your roster is decent - good QB and TE, and decent but old WRs. Would be even better if Plax wasn't a flake.

Locking up the Indy RB slot is the best thing you can do. If #4 gets you Brown your team is looking a lot better. Worst case it gets Crabtree and you add youth to your WR which isn't bad either.

I would counter Sproles and #8 for Westbrook if it is PPR. I think if you lock up Indy and add a stud-caliber rental your luck could turn. But I wouldn't give up pick #4 for a rental.

I wouldn't make either trade. I think that Portis and Westy are both on the downside of their career. Take whoever is left from Moreno, Wells, Crabtree and D. Brown. I would rather gamble on a young guy who could be a stud for the next 7-10 years rather than a RB who has maybe 1 elite year left. I dosen't look like you have a great team, so it's not like Westy or Portis will win you a title. Keep your picks and rebuild ;-D
