GOOD OR BAD TRADE?????????

Postby packers140 » Tue May 12, 2009 7:28 am

Get

Marion Barber
Tashard Choice
Green Bay Defense

Give

Jonathan Stewart
Pittsburgh Defense
3.10
4.05

My picks are 1.01, 2.06, 2.11 and 4.06 with 12 teams total. I have plenty of picks to get WR and QB. I'm probably going to trade down so i can select a WR instead of WELLS or MORENO. I like them but I need Crabtree, Maclin, Harvin, or 2 of the 2nd Tier guys IMO. I already did the trade just want info on whether it was a fair trade. I like Barber alot more than Stewart because of DeAngelo Williams and Barber will catch more passes.

Rodgers, Aaron
Addai, Joseph
Brown, Ronnie
McGahee, Willis
Marion Barber
Tashard Choice
Reggie Wayne
Williams, Roy
Harrison, Marvin
Kelly, Malcolm
Thomas, Devin
Keller, Dustin
Gould, Robbie
Green Bay Defense

I would have taken it to. I have MBIII higher than JStew even in a Dynasty. Choice proved he can succeed at this level but has Felix Jones to contend with who is better suited for our team in combo with Barber. Pitt D is obviously better than GB but not by as much as one would think.

To guarantee to get Crabtree you have to be in the top 4 picks and there is still a chance he gets taken by any one of the top 4 picks. Crabtree is obviously much better than the 2nd tier guys Maclin, Harvin, or Nicks. I would try and trade down to around 3 and see if you can grab him there. If Crabtree is not available I would then try and trade again to the 7th-8th spot and grab one of the 3 WR's I listed above. With the 2:6 there will still be a few nice prospect WR's available.

As for QB. You are fine this year. There is a much better class next year and that is when I would grab one.

Im not a big fan of MB111 and honestly would have stuck with J-Stew. He is going to be an absoluyte stud when given the chance, and he is paid way too much money not to get that chance some time in the near future. Plus, he was in a lesser role last year and still killed MB111 in fantasy points.

My league consists of 8 teams. We keep all players every year. Team rosters cannot exceed 28 players excluding defense. Every year we have a 3 round entry draft with the bottom 4 teams being in a lottery for the 1st overall pick.We start 2 qbs, 3rbs, 3 wrs, 2tes and 1 d. Basic point system..1 point 25 yards qb..1 point 10 yards rb/wr/te rush or recieving. 6 points for all tds run/throw/catch...minus 2 for int/fum.. At the end of the year each team draws a player from a hat and that player becomes a free agent and is put into a silent auction. My team consists of the following:
manning-romo-warner-shaubb-kitna-Boller
andre johnson-edwards-crabtree-harrison-marshall-jennings
peterson-thomas jones-stewart-taylor-benson-ward -thomas-hightower-greene-micheal bush-kevin jones
danials-keller-witten
baltimore-chicago.

The league is entering its 7th year, i won it in 2008.

Yeah I thought since I liked Barber to get at least 50 more fantasy points this year that giving up a 3rd and 4th round pick would be suitable. Stewart is not going to have the year everyone thinks. He can still get hurt and DeAngelo Williams is still going to be starting in his prime right now. Yeah Stewart might be better in 3 years but I think for the next 3 years Barber will be better by a large portion. everyone got off Barbers bandwagon when he got hurt last year.

I think that JStew is a complete stud and will be better in the next year or two depending on when DWill is a free agent. I do think that GB will improve on defense, but you really lose out on that aspect. I think that the rb's are somewhat of a wash, but a lot depends on who you like / dislike.
As far as moving down in the draft why? I think that with the 1.1 take Crabtree and then you may be able to package your two second round movies to move back up and get another wr, I think a sleeper could be Iglesaias(sp?) from Chicago and he may even be there at 2.6 for you. Good luck.
