What do you think? Who will put up better numbers this season and for their career?

I put them essentially dead even for ceilings but to me the thing is Jackson has already proven he can do it on the NFL level. I will take Jackson everytime until Maclin proves something.

My thoughts exactly...Jackson has proven he can be a playmaker for them and while Maclin has upside, he hasn't proven that yet which gives Jackson the slight edge here.

DeSean has the most value. I would draft him several rounds earlier in all formats. DeSean is less likely to be a bust and could improve somewhat over his rookie stats (in TDs if not in Rec and Yards). But Maclin's upside is higher. The Eagles had him rated higher. Andy actually passed on beefy linemen to draft him. He should be more durable over a long career. He should get more receptions. He is just as fast and should be just as much of a playmaker. That's a lot of shoulds, but if we're talking about upside, then you're talking about shoulds.

Agree with most of the board with taking the proven commodity in Jackson. The only thing that worries me about Jackson is some of the rookie gaffes he made last year (i.e. celebrating on MNF before he got into the endzone, etc.). He did tend to be a bit immature at times. Hopefully he grows up and realizes all of his potential. Of course I have no idea regarding the maturity of level of Macklin in the NFL either.

I wouldn't worry to much about that. The kid is young and cocky and made a dumb mistake. The Eagles have a great coaching staff and probably sat him down and had a long talk after that MNF bonehead play.

I would say right this second Desean Jackson he has proved he can play in NFL Maclin has not played yet .So Desean has more upside going into this year with a year more playing time with MCnabb .One of them will be gone in two years just my thought.
