Who is the #7 pick in rookie dynasty league drafts? You are voting on who will have the best fantasy football production in the NFL over the next 5 or 6 years with the team on which the player was just drafted, NOT who will have the best year in 2009. Assume standard scoring (1 pt. per 10 yards rushing / receiving, and no PPR) Also please assume that you have a balanced roster and don't have a great specific need for a QB, WR, etc.
Feel free to discuss the pros and cons of these players - this could be helpful for some and generate some good discussion. If you'd like to vote for a player NOT on this list, then please vote "other" and make a post to discuss the player.
i voted for nicks - i like maclin a lot, and in philly he should do good - i had the #8 pick, the #7 guy took maclin, and i took nicks - i worry about mcnabb being a solid qb over the next 5 years as well as westbrook falling apart - granted they did draft lesean - i think NYG have more need and that nicks will breakout sooner - maclin may catch him and career wise they should be close, i just like nicks better
This is where it could go in alot of directions, but I have to go with the upside and assume he won't bust so that would be Percy Harvin.
He has the potential to be better then Nicks and Maclin, while also providing an instant impact as a rookie...He is on the perfect team in need of play-makers so he doesn't even have to be a traditional WR, I'm hearing he'll run the wildcat, come out of the backfield, he's a very explosive player with alot of potential to grow into.
I think Nicks will turn into a better pure WR, but he's not the threat to score like Harvin is, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Harvin ends up a bust and Nicks is a pro bowl WR, but I still have to rate Harvin higher...Last time Minnesota took a troubled WR with off the field troubles that fell in the draft to them turned out pretty well, I like his chances.

I have them Harvin, Nicks, Maclin, Britt, Hayward-Bey. I think an argument can be made for any of these 5 WRs to go one in front of another, but I think there is a slight dropoff after the Harvin, Nicks, Maclin tier for most people. I can see someone going TE, QB, or even each for a RB after those three, but personally I would still take Britt ahead of other positions. I would select other positions ahead of Heyward Bey, most notably James Davis in Cleveland and Stafford and Pettigrew in Detroit.
