12 Team league. $250 Cap. Basic scoring. Lineup is qb, rb, rb, wr, wr, te, k, d/st and coach
Must keep only 5 players
Philip Rivers $8 Marshawn Lynch $45 Darren McFadden $40 Steve Slaton $14 Kevin Smith $30 Pierre Thomas $10 Steve Breaston $10 TJ Houshmandzadeh $11 Calvin Johnson $20 Jason Witten $14
I know Breaston will not be kept and do not think I will keep McFadden or Lynch due to his suspension. But who would you keep.
#5 is a toss up between Housh and Smith. Really, you need to break down everyone else's keepers and figure out how many good RB's are coming back into FA. If you feel th depth in the RB pool will be good, go with Housh, if you think you might get jammed at RB you may have to go Smith or maybe even Lynch.

Perfect world though, Housh is #5 for me.
That is where I am leaning as well. The 4 no-brainers are perfect. Just not positive on #5.

Thanks for the help.
Rivers Slaton Thomas Calvin
and I think that Housh is your best value to keep as your fifth.
i'd say Witten as the 5th keeper. He should be the #1 target in Dallas with T.O. gone. 1,000 yds and 10 TD's for sure.
Not sure for a keeper league why you wouldn't keep Marshawn and just pick up Fred Jackson as insurance. Lynch has great long-term keeper value imo...
Lynch will miss almost one third of the regular fantasy season this year. Lynch is also 1 mistake away from getting a one year suspension -- and behavioral/character issues have dogged him since college -- that's a pattern, and patterns have a tendency to repeat themselves. I think Lynch is a top-10 RB talent-wise, but there are just too many red flags for me to advocate keeping him.
Smith is a very worthy keeper, the only question is he worth $30 compared to the other QBs. He is not a bargain at $30, but that is probably a slight discount, right?
You are only spending like $52 on your keepers so far. I think you can afford to keep Smith if you like him and still afford to go after the more premium players.
Basically I'd keep whoever was the bigger discount between Smith and Witten.

Actually indibuck, Lynch will miss less than one-fifth of the regular season, not one-third. And his three game suspension is under appeal and might be reduced to two games. Very similar situation to Brandon Marshall last year, who had a two-game suspension reduced to one game. His value was reduced because of that issue. Marshall went off to have a monster fantasy season, and I think Lynch could do the same.
All I'm saying is yes there is risk, but Lynch is a top-10 RB talent. Why not take a chance on him and cover your team by spending a 6th round pick on Fred Jackson to cover Lynch's suspension? Jackson is a capable runner that can keep your team afloat while Lynch sits out.
When Lynch comes back, you've got a solid player at RB. With Buffalo's improved passing game, Lynch should have better opportunities for yards from scrimmage this year imo...
To me, Lynch's comments about himself after meeting with the commissioner seemed very mature and contrite. I don't think he'll screw up again. I have heard that his problems are the crowd he runs with back home in California, and that he himself is not a problem child a la Pac-Man Jones. Plus, I have heard Lynch's family is getting involved and trying to keep him on the right path, so he doesn't lose his income and end up like loser Travis Henry.
