I get what he is saying. I mean it makes sense and it doesn't. He thinks the Steelers should be invited because they are the Steelers, not because they are just Super Bowl champs.

Its an ego thing, not an intelligence thing. I'm not sure I'd pass up a visit to the White House over my ego, but I won't look down upon him for doing standing behind what he believes.

Someone get this man out of football and get him a job in the CIA. His detective skills are uncanny. It's like he can predict the future.

How ridiculous. Is the Prez supposed to meet every pro sports team? Or just the ones with lots of championships? I think being the DPOY is going to someone's head...

You are kidding, right?

Did I stutter? :-b

Really... who cares? He doesn't want to go and EVERYBODY ELSE is making it a big thing.
If I'm missing something and somehow I should think this is a big deal, please enlighten me.

I'm with NFL Fan. This is about the dumbest "story" of the offseason. And that includes the annual Brett Favre saga and whatever is going on with TO. I'm really struggling to figure out why anyone anywhere cares about this.

It's not that he's not going. That's fine. It's the public comments he makes about the President of the U.S. On the one hand, those comments are controversial because they dis the prez. On the other hand they're stoopid because he insinuates that he should be invited regardless of whether or not he helped to win the Super Bowl.

What comments?
The one's where he was going to tell the President he didn't like how he was running the country?

I'm pretty sure he wasn't alone, and guarantee he wasn't the only person who said they wish they could tell the President (Including Bush) to run it differently. I think its silly to roast him over those comments when clearly no one in the country held back negative thoughts about how W ran the country.

I wonder if it would be a bigger player if a white player was boycotting it? I would hope not, but sometimes I underestimate the great lengths we go to find racism anywhere.

That was Joey Porter. I'm talking about James Harrison. Try to keep up. ;-)
