The draft has gone down like this 1.1 Crab 1.2 Brown 1.3 Moreno 1.4 Wells 1.5 Curry 1.6 Maclin 1.7 ??
Note I am up now, but also had pick 1.3 and 1.4 so already selected moreno and wells ( and have AP, DMAC and Maroney(blah) on my roster)
I like McCoy and Greene both but also like Harvin at this slot ( wouldnt mind stafford either but too early for a 1b even with my team having only cutler and quinn as of now) My Wr are calvin, rany moss, holmes, breaston and josh morgan.
Any ideas? I mean I always love to take a RB but i feel I have 4 very , very talented under 24 yr old RB's to date so like harvin for that reason, but again trade value moving ahead makes McCoy or Greene solid too. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks in advance
I agree with Matt, the choice is between Greene and McCoy. If it is a TD heavy league,I would go with Greene. PPR league, I would go with McCoy. I don't think that you could wrong with either guy.
Greene has much more near term value in any format. McCoy has to prove he can block before he gets any game time. If you are looking for trade bait, i would definitely take Greene.
Harvin is a good bet too. You gotta really believe in the guy to take him over Greene. Greene is a very safe pick for short and long term value.
Yep, Greene or McCoy whoever you like more...I prefer McCoy, his production is pretty sick at Pittsburgh and he's built perfectly for that offense which produces alot of points towards a RB, but I agree with if you want trade bait take Shonn Greene.

Wow, that is going to be a nice haul for you in the draft with 1.3 and 1.4 and another first round pick. I would also be questioning the selections and thinking about Harvin with the rb's you have already and your draft picks. Without seeing your entire roster it would be tough to say who to take. If you have no wr's then I think I would have to take Harvin or same thing with a qb. I wouldn't draft a player solely with the intentions of trading him, unless you have a deal worked out before the pick. Good luck, I think you have already done with well Moreno and Wells.
nateb wrote:Since you already took two RBs I would look at a WR (Hicks, Harvin, etc...). If you need QB you could also consider Stafford or Sanchez.
I would look to trade down a few spots and pick up an extra pick or two, since you have a lot of young RB talent and select a WR.
If you can't trade down, I agree with taking McCoy or Greene. I like McCoy long-term -- and with AP and your rookie RBs in the bag, you don't NEED him this year -- it would be a nice luxury to have Shady on your bench.
I really like Shonn Greene. I think the Jets new coaching staff are not high on Thomas Jones, and he's clearly posturing for more money and could be out of town as early as this year -- and definately next year.
I see Rex Ryan going with a run-first mentality, just like the Ravens do. Plus, the Jets have an up-and-coming young offensive line. So all the pieces are in place for Greene to be a Fantasy contributor by 2010.
He'll definately have trade value in your league if that's what you're looking for.
I don't like the bust factor for a guy like Percy Harvin. It appears the University of Florida football program were privately happy he decided to come out early. That's gotta tell you something.
Cutler, Quinn at qb ap, dmac, moreno, wells, maroney at rb randy moss, calvin, holmes, breaston, josh morgan at wr zach miller and carlson at te
its an IDP league as well and im pretty stacked on def other then DL but no DL or def player for that matter is worthy of pick 1.7 in a rookie draft
I am not able to deal down, and while i feel im set at most if not all spots ( qb is weak) im thinking on gambling on harvin, though I know greene is best bet for the now, and mccoy moving forward potentially, but harvin is intriguing to me im still torn i guess is what im saying LOL
Common sense says Greene, the gambler in me says harvin
