b marsh trade for a third round pick

Postby borla118 » Fri May 22, 2009 3:29 pm

i run a 10 person keeper league (4 keepers)

and i have second overall pick (picking 22th? in the third round)

this guy wants my third round pick and i get brandon marshall

my keepers are gore, lynch, chris johnson and roddy white, so i need receiver help, but with his injury, and no cutler, is he marshall still worth it?

im leaning toward yes bc most recievers are being kept because there isnt alot of good ones out there

the best ones i know will be available in the first round will be marshall, welker, b edwards, bowe, but keep in mind most good QB are being kept so i might want to use my first pick on the best qb which MAY be rivers, rodgers, romo, mcnabb, ryan

i have a feeling most of those guys wont last till my second pick though, i think i made my descion i just need some back up, thanks guys!

10 teams. 4 keepers each. Pick number 22 is the 62nd pick if you take into account the 40 players that will be kept.

Marshall will be suspended for a few games, but I still think it's worth it. Noone of his caliber will be available at that pick. Take him.

Yup, if Spiders math is correct then the deal is well worth doing.

If you take Marshall who are you not going to keep? I like your keepers with Gore, CJ, Lynch and Roddy(and I have Roddy alot higher then Marshall at this point).

You may have to wait until the draft has started to do the deal just to make sure you still get to keep Gore, CJ, Lynch and Roddy.

If I read the original post correctly, the other owner is keeping Marshall but trading him for the poster's 2nd round pick. So the poster would keep his 4 and get Marshall in lieu of his 2nd (really 6th round when you count the keepers) round pick. If that is true then Marshall is great value for a 6th round pick.

Why are you saying that Marshall will be suspended for a few games. The NFL has not announced any suspension for Marshall. He was arrested early in the offseason. He was realeased and all charges were dropped. I would wait to make a comment like this until the Broncos or the NFL make an official announcement.

Per the Denver Post...

Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated Tuesday that Brandon Marshall will be viewed as a multiple offender even after charges were dropped in his March 1 arrest.

"As you know we spent a fair amount of time talking last summer," Goodell said. "I mentioned to him before that he needs to stay out of the way of any legal issues and criminal issues. While there are no charges here, at least something occurred, and we'd like to understand (it)." Marshall is likely facing an early-season suspension.
