How about this offer??

Postby buckysGT » Sat May 23, 2009 7:43 am

16 team, 9 player keeper league. Standard scoring ( 1 pt. every 10 yards rec./rushing/20 yds passing), PPR. We start 1QB, 2RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB/TE, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF.
Here are the rosters.
My current team.
QB- Rivers,, Cutler, Leinert
RB- LT, McFadden, Addai, Ward, M. Bush, Cobbs
WR-Chad Johnson, S. Smith(NYG), Harrison, Jones
TE- Cooley, M. Lewis, R. Royal
Def- Saints, Broncos
Overall draft picks-11, 48, 53, 63, 99, 105, 115, 121, 131

His roster:
QB- Favre, Losman, Edwards, V. Young
RB- MJD, Forte, Hightower, Harrison, Mendenhall
WR- Evans, N. Washington, Cotchery, J. Lee Higgins
TE- Daniels, Rosario
K- Prater, Rackers
Def- Jets, Bucs
Overall draft picks-74, 87, 90, 103, 106, 119, 122, 134, 138

His latest offer is MJD and Favre for Cutler and Addai. And he is asking what my earliest picks are? Let me know what would be a fair offer.

I would do it. While Cutler put up numbers in Denver he did so on a bad team playing from behind and with 616 pass attempts. No chance will he ever do that on Chicago. Orton through 466. Chicago runs the ball and so does Jax. I may be one of the few who believes Favre is done but with him, you just never know. For me, it doesn't matter in the deal. I have always considered Addai as a mediocre RB in a very good situation. I believe Brown at the least will have more carries then Addai this year if not outright replace him. Get MJD and have your replacement in place for LT's departure.

Maybe explore upping your side of the deal and getting Edwards in there instead of Favre. You do not have a solid 9 keepers so you have some room to play.

I put an offer out there of Cutler/Addai/#53 for MJD/Cotchery/#90.

The way I am looking at it is, I would get a legit #1 rb and a wr that I am in need of. He would get a legit starting qb and a starting rb plus he moves up in the draft almost 40 picks. I feel its a win win for both of us.

Just waiting to hear back from him now.

I agree with Bungle here. Cutler won't put up the same #'s in Chicago and Addai might not even be starting mid year.

I like the 2nd offer better. As you said it helps both teams. MJD will be a monster for years.

I like the offer that you put in to him, he moves up and get's his qb. I think that he will take this deal and it is pretty even for both teams. The only way that Cutler puts up really good numbers is if the sign Plax, which I wouldn't bank on it and then they will still be a run first team. Good luck.

I think you do it. I like your team starting Rivers, LT and MJD over Rivers/Cutler and LT and DMC/Addia.

You lose your QB depth but gain RB depth, which is more important IMO. You can alway find a QB2, which you will need to do since Leinart won't play.

I think you need to focus on WR as a matter of priority.

Id love to get MJD if I were you, and Im fine with trading Cutler. I like the Cotchery addition to the offer instead of Favre.

If you arent able to get the deal done, you can at least be content knowing you can rotate Cutler/Rivers weekly based on matchups.

You're fine at QB and RB, but WR is weak as heck. Harrison doesnt have a team, Chad may soon be in the same boat. I assume both will play in 2009, but where, and to what degree? they are both far removed from their elite status.

Finally heard back from. He rejected the trade and didn't counter offer anything. What should I look at countering?

Ok.....let's start this over.....let's look at the Keepers...9 keepers....

Yours - Rivers, Cutler, LT, McFadden, Addai, Ward, Chad + 2 stiffs

His - MGD, Forte, Mendenhall, Evans, Cotchery, + 4 stiffs

I think your trade offer was fair....I guess I would go back to him and ask him what he is thinking.....no sense including Farve, since you wouldn't keep him anyway.....so instead look at picks.....

I like the idea of getting MGD, but your in the better position so don't be afraid to stand pat....

Good luck!!
