I am in the middle of a slow online dynasty draft. I have the 9th pick, right now we are on pick number 8 and I am pretty sure he is about to take S. Greene. This is the draft so far:
1. Moreno
2. Crabtree
3. D. Brown
4. Wells
5. McCoy
6. Harvin
7. Maclin
8. I expect it to be Greene

Here is my dilemma. Do I take Hakeem Nicks or one of the QB's? I also have an owner who is willing to give me his first round pick next year for my 9th pick. He has a middle of the road team. If I had to guess, his pick next year could be anywhere from 4-7

Here is my current roster:
Qb- M. Ryan, T. Edwards, J. Russell, M. Leinart, S. Hill

Rb- M. Turner, J. Stewart, R. Bush, P. Thomas, Fred Taylor

WR- A. Johnson, B. Marshall, Boldin, L. Moore, Berrian, Meacham, Hixon

TE- G. Olsen, V. Davis

QB scoring- 1 pt every 50 yards passing, 1 pt every 10 yards rush, 6 pt all TD

RB/WR/TE- 1 pt every 10 yards rush/rec, 1 PPR, 6 pt all TD

We can start any of these combinations:
Full T: RB: 3
WR: 1
TE: 1

Pro Set: RB: 2
WR: 2
TE: 1

Single Back: RB: 1
WR: 3
TE: 1

Run and Shoot: RB: 1
WR: 4

Double Tight: RB: 2
WR: 1
TE: 2

Ace: RB: 1
WR: 2
TE: 2

Spread: RB: 2
WR: 3

Nicks is the best available but you are right, you don't really need him. I don't like the next year deal in a straight trade unless you are completely confident he will fall in the 4-5 range rather than 6-7 range. Losing a year to move up 2 spots is a mediocre deal.

I would certainly explore moving down. Look to the 2.01 and 2.02 owners and see what they can come up with. Hopefully 1 of them is WR poor and you can deal 1.09, one of your WR's for 2.?? and a QB upgrade or WR upgrade.

I would only be looking at moving from one of yuor very good players to an elite player.

I'd Go for one of the Qb's....take a shot.......

Not cold on Nicks....and WR take a while.....

So Sanchez or Stafford....personnaly I think Sanchez has quicker upside....but long term Stafford, playing inside 9 games a year, in a weak division, could have a better future.....but it's a crap shoot.....but take a shot....

The logic in drafting Nicks is now you have Nicks+Hixon which you could try and sell off as a handcuff in a trade for a RB or a RB upgrade. If you think he is BPA I think you should just take him and trade him later.

Does this roster represent all your roster spots? Then I think you need to seriously consider who you're going to drop. Other than Meachem there is no one really droppable on your roster.

With that in mind, I would throw a big offer at the 8 owner to move up so you can get Greene. A RB helps you more. Scoring is a little TD-heavy. Maybe offer Russell+Hixon+1.9 for 1.8. Or even offer Edwards. Or you could start lower.

Another option is to revisit the 1st next year. Maybe give him your 09 1st, 3rd, and 4th for his 09 2nd and his 10 1st.
