Patents or fees

Postby marcecano » Fri May 29, 2009 3:37 pm

my question:
does exist any type of patent to pay if we want to create a fantasy sports web site?
i mean, if we create this kind of web, do we have to pay a fee?
Thanks! :-)

If i create a page like:
http://fantasyfootball.com/
and i try to get money with it,
do i have to pay some fee to the person who create this or who invented fantasy sports?
Thanks!!

Pay a fee to who created fantasy sports? I'm sorry man I may just be missing the boat here but I'm really baffled by your questioning...

I think he means would he need some kind of licence to be able to punlish information such as player names, team info, schedules, etc.

I'm not totally sure of the answer, but wasn't it in the news relatively recently about NFL preventing fantasy sites from using such info? Memory's a little fuzzy on this one, but I'm sure the outcome was favourable for fantasy sites.

So no, I don't think you need to pay to use this information or create a fantasy site of your own.

I also think that's the question. And gregg is correct...if you start a fantasy football website you don't have to pay any patent fees to the inventor of fantasy football or fantasy sports. ;-D

There's a really good thread about the start of FF in the FAQ forum:
