Need Help!!

Postby fantasynewbie » Sun May 31, 2009 10:29 pm

I am in a 14 team keeper league that has the following stats ...
1 pt per 25 yds passing
1 pt per 10 yds rush/rec
1 pt per reception
6 pts per touchdown

Starting roster position requirements are as follows ... 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DEF. We will cut down to a mandatory 3 players in July with the possibility of cutting down to 6. If you cut down to 6 you will lose your 1st, 2nd and 3rd rd picks. If you cut down to 5 you lose the 1st and 2nd rd picks and if you cut down to only 4 you just lose your first rd pick. My players that I am keeping are as follows:

QB - Tom Brady
RB - Marshawn Lynch, Willie Parker
WR - Greg Jennings, DeSean Jackson

I have made trades that have given me an extra 2nd and 3rd rd pick so even if I do keep the five I have mentioned, I will still have a 2nd round pick and 2 third rd picks. My question is this, we are getting ready to have a free agent draft in June (all the owners freeze 9 players on their teams and the rest are fair game). We bid on these players with our draft picks we have and if we get the players, we lose the draft pick we bid on them because we used it to get them. I am thinking that I should get 2 WR's and shore up my WR corps in an easy way.

The players I am looking at are:
Bernard Berrian --- Eddie Royal --- Nate Washington --- Donnie Avery --- Patrick Crayton --- Chris Chambers

of these 6, which two should I go after, or is there anyone else that you can think of that would be a better choice? No stars need to be answered ... give me some sleepers! I have looked at RB and there are none that people have not frozen for this FA draft.

Thanks

Really hard to say because I don't really know if I 100% understand fully what your league does... but on that list I'd pursue Bernard Berrian and Donnie Avery. Just me... I like Avery's chances with no Torry hogging up 100 receptions a year. But if I knew more I could give you better advice.

I'm in the same boat... interesting league but hard for an outsider to give advice. I actually question you keeping FWP and DJax and giving up your first and 2nd rounders. Where would you be picking?

Anyways, in order of preference...

Berrian
Royal
Avery
Chambers
Crayton
Washington

Crayton and Washington would be very minor bids.

Not really sleepers but... Miles Austin, Jamaal Charles ( I know you said no RB but protecting 9 x 14 is 126, there must be some RB available) Fred Jackson, Michael Bush (doubtful) Earl Bennett, Justin Gage, Josh Morgan, Kevin Walter, Steve Breaston. Devin Hester
