Ok I'm in a dynasty league, meaning you keep your whole team from year to year and just draft rookies/free agents. Your pre-draft roster can have a max of 2 QB, 3 RB, 3WR, 2 TE, 2 K, 2 DEF... So as you'll see I'll have to drop some good players if I don't trade them. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE), 1 K, and 1 DEF.
I'm weak at WR... I'd like to keep Romo, Holmes, Brown, Slaton, & Carlson because they're all young which is important in a dynasty league. What should I offer him to get Calvin Johnson...
MY TEAM #11 pick in draft QB: Tony Romo, Chad Pennington RB: Ronnie Brown, Steve Slaton, Larry Johnson, Thomas Jones WR: Santonio Holmes, Bernard Berrian, Devin Hester TE: Vernon Davis, Kellen Winslow, John Carlson K: Neil Rackers, Mason Crosby DEF: Giants, Texans
HIS TEAM #5 pick in draft QB: Kurt Warner, Phillip Rivers, Brady Quinn RB: Julius Jones, Ahman Green, Earnest Graham, Rashard Mendenhall WR: Calvin Johnson, Santana Moss, Lance Moore TE: Anthony Fasano, Ben Utecht K: Rob Bironas, Lawrence Tynes DEF: Titans, Jags
I'm thinking maybe something like Thomas Jones, Bernard Berrian, & Kellen Winslow for Calvin Johnson, is that enough? Would you accept it? What would you offer if you were me?
The main problem I see is that WR is not a strength for him. If he trades you CJ2 for those 3 players, he now has Moss as his WR1 and T.Jones just isn't enough of a upgrade at RB for him. Unless you are talking about Witten, Gates or Gonzo, TE don't really have a lot of value IMO.
If you really want CJ2 I think you are going to have to offer Slaton and Berrian(maybe even Holmes) for CJ2 and maybe a swap of picks in the 2nd round. I own CJ2 in a couple of dynasty leagues, and there is very little that would make me want to trade him, but a top 10 RB is something I would have to think about.
12 Team 1/2 PPR Dynasty Auction League. QB: Cutler, Hill RB: Turner,Slaton,Benson,Mendenhall,Harrison,Robinson, Greene WR: CJ2, Fitz, Smith(NYG), Brunce, Morgan,Bryant TE: Carlson
CJ is my #1 dynasty WR, I don't think your offer would even be close. I think it would take at least Slaton and Holmes. He is really weak at RB, so he may bite on an offer that involves Slaton or Ronnie Brown. I think that is the only way you will get a deal done.
I would start at Slaton and Holmes and work from there. The dude needs a good young RB, if he believes in Slaton at least you got a shot. I think offering less is an insult. You need to sell him on the fact that at pick #5 he's still not getting a RB as good as Slaton.
the other guys roster is weak. he has megatron and thats about it. his RBs stink.
If he has any sense he will move megatron for a strong RB and WR combo.....Im just not sure if you have it to offer.......but someone in the league should do.
Kudos to the uberdesigner 'soty' for the sig!

This is what I am thinking...You don't have a solid RB+WR in my opinion to entice him and trading anything more would really hurt the depth of your team.

I think I take this from another Direction....he is very weak at RB.....position it that Slaton is untouchable, for now....
Offer him RB - LJ and TJ (Both old but better than anything he has...and compete for 1 year) WR - Hester (Play the Cutler thing - campare to Royal) TE - Winslow and Davis (Both young, better than what he has)
you Get Quinn (backup) Mendenhall (young unproven) CJ (stud) Utect (sleeper if Palmer healthy)
Makes him alot better this year at RB.....gives you some depth......
Then if he bails you have options on what you want to do with Slaton.....

Good Luck...
I think that is even worse than the holmes/slaton offers. You are saying to try and get quinn/mendenhall/cj? that is going to be rough. Im not sure I would accept the offer as you have it even if you threw in Slaton.
Yep, he's anorexic at RB. You're fairly well off by comparison. My instinct would be to offer Ronnie Brown & Berrian for CJ, with the #11 pick for his 2nd round pick thrown in if absolutely necessary. If he balks, walk away.
