Guy picked up Frank Gore with the very next pick and went on to win the league. I was the next pick on the board :-t

hah!

Nothing like an opportunity falling right into your lap, eh?

Redrafts are usually done early August, somewhere around when pre-season has just started...Dynasty Rookie Drafts are June 1st or sooner if possible, it's a completely different type of draft though, getting to follow Training Camp and Pre-season is fine for redrafts but it shouldn't happen with Dynasty drafts but that's just my opinion.

Why shouldn't owners be allowed to follow training camp and pre-season in dynasty leagues?

The challenge in a dynasty is building a team over a period of time, not just for one season. Most dynasty players take great pride in building teams based on their knowledge of college football and the skill sets needed to be in the NFL. Most have little interest in waiting until training camps and preseason to see how a player performs. I am down to one redraft league, everything else is keepers and dynasties.

You watch, you read, you study and you beter be ready for the rookie draft. (honestly it still doesn't help much) I have taken Mike Williams at 1.08 but have also taken MJD and Brandon Jacobs in the 2nd round, if NFL scouts can't predict things, well neither can we. That is the dynasty game.... learn as much as possible and make your picks based on that.

And waiting until training camp starts wouldn't be a key part in learning as much as possible? Seeing how players fit in with their respective teams is a big deal.

I'm in a 12 team, redraft and love that we do it the Monday or Tuesday before the opening night game. No pre-season injuries to screw you out of an early pick ;-D

I feel like by the time TC comes you should already have what player you wanted, and be following him to see what he performs...I just feel like it's too easy by then, who can't wait until a guy straps on the pads, does well then draft him early? The skill comes from taking guys before you see them in action yet...A dynasty should feel almost like your a regular GM, blindly drafting talent, if you wait for OTA's, mini camps, and Training Camp's you don't even need to do your homework in the off-season, you can wait for the million reports to surface about the guys doing well.

It penalizes the guys who do their research in the off-season to an extent in scouting talent, figuring out who they want, that's why I like early drafts...If you don't follow your players by the point the draft was held then your draft is going to show those results...Redrafts are yearly leagues that you should wait so you don't draft injured players, year to year stock following is fine for a redraft.

There should be more risk, and blind drafting involved in rookie drafts to me, there almost is no point in doing off-season research and following players if you can wait until August to draft everyone because it's easy at that point...I guess it depends on your preference, but I probably wouldn't want to be involved with a dynasty that held rookie drafts that late, everyone has their own preferences so It's not to say someone is wrong for doing it that way, but I firmly believe we should be drafting rookies in a dynasty almost like the NFL teams draft the players...How easy is it to find talent when you just covet the guy who is tearing up Training Camp, when someone else in the league has been a fan of that player since February and could of gotten him in the 4th round, now that same player is an early 2nd rounder.
