Who is the #13 pick in rookie dynasty league drafts?

Postby Kareighuis » Thu Jun 04, 2009 9:57 pm

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Cafe's first rounder dynasty votes, over in the Football Leftovers forum! A lot of useful information has been gleaned in the discussion and voting. I hope to continue this through (at least) the 2nd round.

Who is the #13 pick in rookie dynasty league drafts? You are voting on who will have the best fantasy football production in the NFL over the next 5 or 6 years, NOT who will have the best year in 2009. Assume standard scoring- 1 pt. per 10 yards rushing/receiving, and no PPR. Also, please assume that you have a balanced roster and don't have a great specific need for a QB, WR, etc.

Feel free to discuss the pros and cons of these players- this could be helpful for some and generate some good discussion. If you'd like to vote for a player NOT on this list, then please vote "other" and make a post to discuss the player. This will serve as a write-in vote for that player. ;-D

Previous vote polls-
1.01- RB Chris "Beanie" Wells, Arizona
1.02- RB Knowshon Moreno, Denver
1.03- RB Donald Brown, Indianapolis
1.04- WR Michael Crabtree, San Francisco
1.05- RB Shonn Greene, N.Y. Jets
1.06- RB LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia
1.07- WR Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia
1.08- WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota
1.09- WR Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants
1.10- RB Andre Brown, New York Giants
1.11- QB Matt Stafford, Detroit
1.12- WR Kenny Britt, Tennessee

I voted Sanchez- the highest floor of the QBs and fewest questions compared to the WRs. The RBs are handcuffs at the moment and their contributions at the beginning of the specified 5-6 year range are correspondingly uncertain at best.

I like Brian Robiskie in the next 5 years. I feel he has a chance to put up decent numbers this year especially if Braylon is traded.

Robiskie as well is my pick. Problem with him is that he is likely just a very good WR for 5-7 years.

At #13 you still dream of the stud (unrealistically) so guys like Sanchez and Jennings get thrown into the equation. I love Jennings but flat out, he is not better than MJD.

Sanchez... well, how can you trust a guy who had 16 starts and couldn't surpass Booty on the depth chart?

OMG I totally voted for Sanchez you guys. Without PPR I fail to see the upside of a guy like Robiskie.

Even in a dynasty I try to draft for guys who will be productive in the next couple of years...how often do you see a guy be a back up for 7 years than start. They fade away. If they have the talent they will get a spot. Bar none, especially at WR with so many on the field.

I like Sanchez.

If he plays well this year his stock soars because he was a rookie who played well. Far past where Robiskies will be if he gets minimal time. Because he wasn't a viable option this year I will try and pick up on the next hot thing unless there is reports on strides being make or he is thrown into a great situation all of a sudden.

Let me just say I think Robiske could still be a stud, it's not like he's slow, or small, he's just not flashy...He's got the skills to be a #1 WR for a team and probably will for Cleveland at some point, he's got an incredible understanding of the game and does the little things well and it's going to make him very hard to cover.

His game reminds me of Mushin Muhammad, someone who will have a long career and be able to get over 1100 yards and 6 TD's more then a handful of times, that's borderline stud to me.
