I would take Boldin with your first pick, he is a PPR monster. I would have no problem with you taking Wayne or S. Smith, but I think Boldin will have the best year if healthy. Don't take a QB #1. You will be able to get a QB a little bit later that will throw plenty of TD's (Rodgers, Rivers, McNabb, Romo)

Thanks for the clarification.

With your 3 RBs locked up, you have to go WR over QB, and I agree that the correct pick would be Boldin in a PPR.

Good luck! ;-D

I'm going to go the other way.....I'd say take Manning.....and piece together a WR core.....

I just don't see Boldin or Wayne as worthy of #1 overall......With Boldin's contract status, will he play? if so where? Questions with a #1 pick are NOT good.....

Take Manning....... Put up points and get possion receivers to fill in.......Worst case trade one of the top RB's for a Top WR and Rookie RB, for next year.....you have the biggest chips in the game.....push the rest of the table around.....

I just don't see how passing up Boldin/Smith/Wayne at WR1 and having to start a Desean Jacson type of guy at WR1 compares to not drafting Manning at QB1 then replacing him with a Rivers type of guy. While, Rivers/Romo/McNabb will all hover around the mid to lower second tier (which will still be fine as QB1)... if you don't go WR (in a PPR league 8-o ) then you'll rely on third, fourth or even fifth tier WRs to start for you week in and week out. While you have all the trade value in the world, why use it if you don't have to?

Well thats the way i was thinking..... Because Manning is always in our top 10 in points every year, Because i dont think that Rivers , Rodgers, Mcnabb,Romo will be there by pick 4.05 with 6pts per pass TD and remember this is a 2 man keeper, which Brady,Brees,Cutler, is being kept..... I would love to go Boldin if i knew i could get a Mcnabb,Rivers our Rodgers caliber QB.............

It isn't about who gets top points overall. You have to look at the points compared to other people at his position. If he's always in the top 10, then awesome, but if hes there with 2-3 other QBs every year then it defeats the argument. "Positional scarcity" is the term I should use... maybe make an article about it :-)

Just realizing that the "scarcity" in one position is much more scarce than another. The tiers on WRs will deplete a lot quicker than the stock of QBs. So the way I;ve always looked at it is take a guy at a position, where the other position won't be that effected. The downgrade from Boldin to whoever is going to be more dramatic than the drop from Manning to one of those guys.

So you would be happy if you took Boldin with pick 1.1 and end up with Garrad, T.Edwards, Hasselbach, Ryan,Delhom type of Qb. Rather than take Manning and end up with a L.evans, S.moss , Royal,S.Holmes type of Wr.......

Thanks for your knowledge and Opinions too...........

Last year here's how the stats shake down with a couple of these guys I'll compare Manning/Holmes or Ryan/Boldin:

Manning (19.1 ppg) Ryan (14.1 ppg) Boldin (14.2) Holmes (7.4)

So the Manning/Holmes duo averaged about 26.5 ppg while Ryan/Boldin averaged 28.3 ppg in 2008-09. While the points seem it doesn't matter the thing that comes into here is that the Holmes type of guy would become your WR1, meaning you'd have to get another guy like that to fill out the rest of the WR core. Sooo if I was in your spot I'd take the stud RB/WR and wait for a similar tiered QB because the numbers just have always added up that way for me. But then again I'm not you :-b Hope I helped... at least minimally haha
