Opinions on league settings

Hey guys, I have been a commish for my league for 2 years now. Seems like each year something changes and either more people want to enter the league or someone wants to change around the stats. The latter I am cool with. However, right now we have 10 people in the league (money league) and I just dont know if I want to go to 12 managers. I have been doing some mock drafts on yahoo and 12 just doesnt seem as fun given you wont have as much talent on your teams. However, I have a few additional who want to play. Can I get your opinions on your preference between 10 team and 12 team leagues? what are the advantages and disadvantages? Thank you.

Here are my league settings which I do not want to change:

Playoffs: Week 14, 15 and 16 (8 teams)
Divisions: No
Roster Positions: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, IR
Fractional Points: No
Negative Points: Yes

i play in both...i like 12 better, it's a little bit more of a challenge and opens up more trade opportunities...in 10 team leagues decent talent can still be found on the WW

however, i think 8 teams making the playoffs is insane...

My league changes some rule every year too. Keeps it interesting.

Ours is a 12 team league with 22 possible slots (8 active, 7 reserve, 2 injured and 5 practice squad). I love it.

I've played in leagues with as many as 18 teams and the challenge is what makes it so fun. Yeah, it's cool to be able to pick between two good RB, wondering who is going to have a better game, but it is extremely satisfying when a player you reached for becomes a Deangelo Williams!

Now, I don't know how to go about expanding, and I don't foresee doing it in my league. 12 teams seems to me to be 'just right,' and I feel as satisfied as Goldie Locks with baby-bear's porridge.
