Rookie draft..who to take in this spot

Postby GiantsFanNJ » Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:18 am

This is my 3rd year with this dynasty team...
NON-PPR/basic scoring...All TD's 6...
Team needed lots of work when I got it...And I have added players like Cutler/Grant/Bowe/Bryant/Avery/Cassel...coming into this year...
However...I still won only 3 games last year when I thought I had a shot at the playoffs...
Roster
Cutler...Cassel
D.Williams(car)..Grant..Addie..Mendenhall..Morris..Torain..Forsett
Bowe..Bryant..Avery..Walter..Hixon..Bradley..Hawkins..D.Williams(balt)..Morgan..
.Manningham..J.Jones(gb)..J.Jones(hou)
Clark..Shockey
No Kicker...so ill need to make a cut either a rookie or a vet...
GB
I have the second pick...
Who would u take...from whoever is left from
Moreno/Wells/Brown
or
Crabtree/Mclian/Nicks
I know Brown fits in because I have Addie....however I am leaning best available WR....And of I had my choice I think that could be Nicks..I also so think if i do go RB I should take Wells or Moreno whomever is left...
Thanks for any advice...

First of all, do not Nicks with the 2nd pick. If you are that high on Nicks, you should be able to trade down to the 6-8 range and draft him. If I were you, I would take either Wells or Moreno.

I have the top 5 rookie ranked:
Moreno
Wells
Crabtree
D. Brown
McCoy

Your options are:
1. Moreno
2. Wells
3. Trade down

If you don't take one of the big 2 RBs at the 1.2 spot, try and trade down and get some extra picks/players.

Personally I see Wells and Moreno as the 2 RBs that have the best combination of talent and opportunity to produce as quality RBs and the chance to join the elite RBs -- and that is worth it's weight in gold, especially in a keeper or dynasty league. Brown, Greene, and McCoy all have shots at becoming very good RBs, but their path to being a feature back is more clouded.

I think you should take one of the two, regardless if you have Addai or anyone else on your squad.

I would take either Moreno or Wells.

I would also look at trade one of your WR (not named Bowe or Morgan) or Addai to see if you could get another high draft pick. You need to be creative and aggressive in trades to get this team turned around. You have a lot of dead weight at WR so cuts should not be a problem.

Good luck

I'd also take Moreno or Wells (in that order). If you have a top 3 pick it's pretty straightforward on your pick this year in rookie drafts, you go Moreno, Wells, or Crabtree.

Ok Thanks allot everyone...I have decided I will first explore trying to trade the pic along with Addie or Bryant for an upper tier player..If I dont get a deal i like I will take either Moreno/Wells...
Anyone else feel free to chime in
