Keep 3: Marshall, Braylon, Bowe, Westy, Megatron WHIR

Postby Indy07 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:48 pm

Hey everybody its a ppr league 6 pts for TD all for everything 1 pt - 10 yd standard scoring otherwise.. I have to pick 3 and i'm leaning to Bowe, Megatron and westy. Westy's surgery scares me and I think Braylon will bounce back and have a great year.. I also have Kurt Warner and Grant that I may consider keeping.. Who do you choose?

Warner and Grant aren't in the conversation in my opinion... while Megatron is a no-brainer, I'm torn between Marshall and Bowe and I don't think you can go with no RB even though Westy is looking shakier and shakier at a dynasty spot. Either way since it's a full 1 PPR I would go with Marshall, Westy, and Megatron and then cross your fingers for Marshall to keep his word that he's gonna stay outta trouble. Pacman said that too :-°

I would keep Westy, Mega and Marshall.

I am very worried about Westy's health. I would look to package Westy/Bowe for a stud RB who is younger and not coming off ankle surgery.

westy, megatron, bowe for me. orton is too much of a question mark in a new offense. kc lost their #1 red zone threat in tony g. and LJ is keeping his mouth shut this offseason making me think other teams may have to respect the run again. like others westy scares me, but you could handcuff with an earlier-than-you-want pick in lesean mccoy or try to package westy with marshall to upgrade at RB. maybe a kevin smith or slaton holder would be interested.

Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Braylon Edwards - Yes I said it. Do not keep Westbrook. I love him as a player and guy but he is too shaky. Focus on RBs entirely in your early rounds. I'd be going RB, RB, RB, RB more than likely. You won't even need to worry about WR with these three.

If Braylon was a more reliable WR I would say the same thing... but he didn't show me anything last year that showed him for 16 games would be any better than Westy for ~12 games, plus the fact all of your RBs would be well below the shelf if you kept 3 WRs. I like Johnson, Bowe, and Edwards but all three of them aren't top tier enough to warrant not keeping any other position.

We don't know what the QB situation in KC will be like either. Matt Cassell may be terrible without Bellicheck/McDaniels, Moss/Welker and the Pats o-line. I am sure a lot of Qb's would look good in the Pats system

Yea, that's why I said Marshall because even though Orton hasn't proven to be the best QB in the world, he didn't have talent, if any to throw to in Chicago either. I have more faith in Marshall being twice any other WR Orton has ever played with, while Bowe is going to have to deal with the loss of Tony G., and being doubled every play with a first-time franchise QB.

I think Denver's situation with McDaniels and Co. is better for Marshall than the KC situation is good for Bowe, right now.

I would keep Calvin, Bowe, and Braylon.

Westy scares me from a health standpoint and I think it's a sucker bet to keep him with the options you have.

Marshall has a lot of questions. I know he is not likely to get a suspension from his latest incident. But count the facts he now has Orton/Simms throwing to him, and he is literally one transgression away from a serious suspension, and he is a shaky keeper IMHO.

In regards to Braylon -- I know he had a down year in 2008, but people forget what he did in 2007. Even if you get something right in the middle of what he produced in '07 and '08, that's a great WR3 for you.

But my first step would be to try and trade. Package Westy with either Bowe or Braylon and see if you can get an upgrade at RB. Then keep Calvin, new RB, and whoever is left of Braylon/Bowe.
