In a Mini Draft in a new Keeper, have 2 picks to make

Postby THEOT » Sat Jun 13, 2009 9:15 pm

Hey guys, I joined a keeper league, there's 3 of us that are new and in what they call a mini draft, all the players from those teams were thrown in the pot along with the draft picks. I had first pick, I took Slaton. Since then Palmer, Bush & Flacco have been taken and I'm back up with 2 picks. I'm tempted to take Barber and Felix Jones both here, then I think maybe I should get a WR or QB, or should I take a picks. After this we have to finalize 16 keepers then we draft, never been in a keeper like this so I'm not real sure the picks are all that great, but they may be good trade bait to get better players too. I've also thought about grabbing Mendenhall to as I think he's the future there. Could really use some advice here, I just can't decide which way to go. Its PPR too. Thanks.

Kinda seems like youre getting shafted a little bit here man. Especially in a 2 QB league... I really don't know where to start with the situation. I like the Slaton pick, and I think MB3 is the next pick, but after that I would probably take Braylon and sew up a semi-top WR. But if you have the 1,2,3...etc. draft picks don't you just get to pick your first 7-8 guys that are the next to go off the board?

No those picks for the the full league draft after keepers are declared.

Oh okay, either way my next two picks would be MB3 and Braylon even though he makes me nervous. I think Felix would have a better chance of not getting picked up and being able to get picked up later, while Edwards would probably be gone. Plus, if keeping 3 RBs (including 2 in the same backfield) it just doesn't add quality depth to your overall team.

It'd be hard to start Felix and MB3 on same weeks but with no legitimate WR there, which there wont be if Braylon goes untouched, youd have to run the risk that theres enough balls in Big D to go around to two different backfield options every week.
