Living about an hour outside Philly, everybody around here is gung ho for the Philles. I tried to watch the World Series game last night, and I couldn't even get through an inning.
Since 2000, I've only watched the postseason if the Dodgers were in it. The only World Series I've caught since then have been the famous 2001 WS (Yanks/D'Backs), 2002 WS (Dodger fan's worst nightmare, but reveled off the Giants choking), and the 2004 WS (to witness history, for lack of a better reason). I'm more disgusted this year, having to see a lousy Northeast Series. Best part about living in SoCal is there are a thousand other things to do other than watch some silly baseball game without the only baseball team in L.A. in it.
Oh, and Phillies fans are frontrunners. Those are Jimmy Rollins' words, not mine.
Really, I still associate Philadelphia as an Eagles town and really, the rest is icing on the cake or a distraction from another disappointing end to an Eagles season.
