Latest news...
Demetrius Williams WR Balt
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&filter_teams=BAL&filter_position=WR6/18/09-Ravens WR Demetrius Williams is still feeling pain as he recovers from left ankle surgery in November.
"It's going to be a lot of pain as far as breaking up the scar tissue," he said. "It's a process, and it's going to take some time." It doesn't sound like Williams has encountered setbacks, but recovering from Achilles' surgery is no small order. He's definitely not assured of a big role this season.
C.Brown RB Hou
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&filter_teams=HOU&filter_position=RB5/26/09-Coach Gary Kubiak reiterated that the Texans view Chris Brown as a potential short-yardage back behind Steve Slaton.
"He’s showed in this league he can have some big games and also he should be a good short-yardage player," Kubiak said. Brown, who isn't limited at OTAs, is currently rotating with Ryan Moats as the team's No. 2 back.
Mario Manningham WR NYG
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&filter_teams=NYG&filter_position=WR6/11/09-Beat reporter Mike Garafalo believes that Mario Manningham is very much in the mix to be the Giants' third receiver.
Garafalo says Super Mario has looked "very good this spring." He beat Giants LCB Aaron Ross on two deep routes during Thursday's OTA practice and might have the most vertical threat upside of any receiver on the roster.
Chauncey Washingto RB Jax
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&filter_teams=JAC&filter_position=RB6/18/09-Coming out of OTA's, the Jaguars think they may have gotten a steal in seventh-round pick RB Rashad Jennings.
Jennings, who played at Liberty, will compete in training camp to be one of Maurice Jones-Drew's backups. Greg Jones will probably be Jones-Drew's primary handcuff, but don't count out Jennings and Chauncey Washington.
-Williams is having trouble getting healthy.
-Brown is 28 yrs-old and, at best, the #2 back. I think his age and situaton gives him little to no dynasty value.
-Manningham has had character issues, but he is only 23 yrs-old and has potential future upside.
-Washington seems to be an afterthought in Jacksonville.
Of the four, I would take Manningham in a dynasty league. Many scouts considered him to be the most talented receiver in last year's draft. His off the field issues killed his draft position, but he may still have a future as a starting WR.
