Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Cafe's first rounder dynasty votes! I'll be continuing this to the end of the 2nd round.
Who do you think should be the 12th pick of the second round in 12-team rookie dynasty league drafts? You're voting on who will have the best fantasy football production in the NFL over the next 5 or 6 years, NOT who will have the best year in 2009. Assume standard scoring- 1 point per 10 yards rushing/receiving, and no PPR. Also, please assume that you have a balanced roster and don't have a great specific need for a QB, WR, etc.
Feel free to discuss the pros and cons of these players- this could be helpful for some and generate some good discussion. If you'd like to vote for a player NOT on this list, then please vote "other" and make a post to discuss the player. This will serve as a write-in vote for that player.
Mods, please don't move this thread. This series of topics has had more responses when posted in the Leftovers subforum. Thanks!
I like Thomas or Freeman here, probably Thomas as he has a starting WR slot right now and has some pretty good tools, though he's small. Freeman would also be a good pick if you're looking for a long-term QB; he's a risky guy to take (I think he'll fail pretty badly) but he has way more potential than anyone left on the board here....
So, a 4-way tie between White, Ringer, Iglesias and Thomas.
As a tie-breaker, I'll go with White. Ringer's potential is limited, while Iglesias and Thomas face too much competition to determine who'll come out on top.
White is such a multi-dimensional threat. He could play QB if/when Chad Henne fails and dabble in RB during Wildcat formations. He could even line up out wide from time to time. Too much upside to bypass.
