That's great. Now if they can allow a real waiver system for free, learn how to rate their IDP's, learn that LB's & DL's are not the same position, & add about 100 more options for setting up leagues....all for free....I might consider playing there again.
I changed my mind. Fleaflicker already has all that & more for free...yahoo =
Excellent news! and a good move by Yahoo. They were losing traffic, therefore losing advertising revenue. I'm guessing a desk jockey did a cost benefit analysis and decided it more profitable to drop the charge for live scoring.
Much of what you mention we already have, if you were actually interested.
Including accurate IDP rankings? I found this on the "what's new" blurb at Yahoo:
If you're an IDP player -- and you really should be, because it's a stellar way to learn the NFL -- then you're going to be pleased. Last year's IDP game was checkers (Connect Four at best); this year it's chess.
So, why are Allen Rossum and Will Blackmon still the top 2 rated IDPs?

I said much, not all At this time, our rankings are always based on public settings, and public settings don't include IDP. Making rankings that are league specific is "on the list", and we have some ideas how to make it happen, it just hasn't made it to the top yet.
I'll give you guys credit as you have come a long, long way since your first season of FF. I remember those days. But I'm also certain that you realize you have two uphill battles to deal with here at the Cafe. The first is that many of us used Yahoo at one point in time in the past and we still remember that Yahoo and it will be a hard memory to completely erase for most of us. The second is more a word of advice. Since the stat tracker is free this year, Yahoo needs to make sure that there won't be any traffic related crashes.
I remember back when I was with CBS 2 years ago and I can remember the whole site locking up about 15 minutes before game time which is why I had to move my league. I just hope Yahoo doesn't experience the same issues with the massive traffic increase they are likely to see this year.
I was just about to move a free league over to ESPN. This might change things. Great news
"Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time."
