Round 3 Coming Up Need Draft Advice

Postby Jbizzle » Wed Jul 08, 2009 7:35 pm

I am pick 7 out of 8 teams. It is a PPR, IDP DYNASTY LEAGUE.

Currently I have MJD and Fitzgerald.

1st round went like this...
1. Brees
2. Manning
3. Rodgers
4. Turner
5. AD
6. Romo
7. MJD
8. Forte

2ND ROUND

2.1 Gore
2.2 Fitzgerald
2.3 L.T.
2.4 S. Jackson
2.5 C. Johnson
2.6 S. Slaton
2.7 R. Moss
2.8 P. Willis LB

I pick 7th round 3 and then 2nd round 4. What do you suggest I do? RB next hoping B. Jacobs falls? or WR? Then for 4th should I grab my QB? Please help, this is my first dynasty league with IDP's...

Does your league require 2 starting QBs??? I am pretty surprised that AP didn't go til 5 8-o even if that is the case.

What are your starting requirements?

I will say this... take the best available RB or WR. There was a run on QBs early, that means you can load up on the top RBs and WRs.

I wouldn't even think about drafting an IDP until all my skill positions (and most of my backups) have been drafted.

No only one starting QB.

1-QB
2-RB
2-WR
1-RB/WR
2-LB
2-CB
2-S
1-Defensive Utility
1-K

Kinda sucks that it's an 8 team league...generally those are among my least favorite because it just becomes an entire league of stacked teams and it's more luck than ever. In a league like this (unless you have crazy starting requirements, which you don't), it's in your best interest to land as many true studs at the different positions as you can...no matter what position they might be because you can always find a pretty good guy to fill out the other spots you need to.

Also...is it ppr or not? That'll make a big difference.

Wow... I can't get over your first two rounds.... All the QBs taken (and an IDP in the 2nd round!)....

I would forget about QB for the time being and load up on those RBs and WRs. Take the best available at your next 4 spots and your team will be tough to stop.

Yeah it is PPR. We have high scoring for IDP's. They're worth about as much as a RB.

No one has mentioned Tom Brady. Seeing how the other premiere QBs have gone, why not pick up the under the radar stud? I think he as great value this year.
QB: E. Manning, Bradford
RB: Peterson, Best, Tolbert, Starks, Torain
WR: Wallace, Welker,Colston. P. Parker, Floyd
TE: Hernandez, Davis
K: Hanson

I see Andre Johnson still there, but will prolly be gone by your 7th pick. If he is there would be a good choise. Another guy that always seems to fall under the radar as far as where he picked vs his FF numbers is Wes Welker. He doesn't get a crap load of yards and TD's, but in a PPR league he is usually in the top 10-15 in production of Fantasy numbers at the WR position.

DeAngelo Williams in CAR would be one other that could be there. Even though it looks like a RBBC I thnik DW will get around 70% of the carries. coaches there like to kinda ride one horse and use the #2 to keep the #1 rested due to running the ball alot.

I could list 3-4 others at each of those 2 positions but those are 3 I would key on.

You do need a RB at one of those 2 picks. And then either WR or stud TE (Witten in Dallas - can't believe I said that - would be the best pick there I think).
You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
