How many bench slots for a 12 team league?

Postby ike301 » Thu Jul 09, 2009 5:09 pm

No DL, current setting is

QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

I feel like 5 bench on a 12 team make a very quiet league. people are going to hoard....

thoughts?

The system I like is one assigned sub per starting position including Def/ST. This way bye weeks are also taken in consideration during drafts.

It would look something like this...

QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, K, DEF, (QBBN), (WRBN), (BNRB), (TEBN), (KBN), (DEFBN)

*You could have one addition "Injury only" spot that you could put one injured player so you don't have to drop to the waiver wire. That way you don't lose your star players in case they go down for a couple of weeks.

although that would be optimal, i dont think i can get them to vote for it. plus, sometimes there is strategy hoarding players. ;) i know i do it for certain byeweeks. haha.

thank you for your note.

Because in my leagues we charge for add/drops I believe it is only fair to allow for someone to be able to draft an entire roster and never *require* them to make a move. Of course, teams are usually at a huge disadvantage in doing so, but I still think it's fair to allow them this opportunity if they so desire.
