QB keeper-- Romo or Warner?

Postby hammertoes » Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:36 pm

I can keep either Tony Romo in the 10th round or Kurt Warner in the 16th round. What do you think?

Romo lost his #1 WR, but Warner is 38 and I don't know how much longer he can keep it up (plus he has the "superbowl loser" curse).

Is this a keeper league? How many teams and how many QB's do you start? Scoring?

Without knowing the above, those would both seem to be good value picks. I tend to think Romo might be a better choice, but losing TO might be painful (I read that TO accounted for 40% of his TD passes). Warner hasn't lost any receivers and has another RB to hand off to. I might go with Warner because the 16th round seems pretty good value wise on him. So, I guess based on just picking one of the two, I would do Warner for a 16th round pick.

I'd probably keep Warner with the 16th round pick...Warner is going higher in drafts anyway and you get him 6 rounds later, if he stays healthy he's easily a top 5 QB so I don't think it's even close on this one. Romo will be hurt A LOT by TO not being there...it's one thing having 2 great targets like TO and Witten to defend...it's another entirely when you really just have the one great target in Witten left now. Expect Dallas to be a heavy running team this year.

I like Warner much better than Romo this year. But, due to age Romo will be a much better keeper after this year. They are both very good value. If you really want to go for it this year keep Warner. If you still want a good QB and to be in better shape for the future keep Romo.

Warner is much better value in 16th. He'll probably outscore Romo too.
