My initial reaction was that I hate to give up the youth for the age in a keeper, but that I can use the depth that LT provides. As you can see, I had to carry a lot of backs due to the gutting I've taken at the position over the years. I've thought about asking for Walter in addition to the original trade to sort of sweeten the deal. Thoughts on the trade? Leave a link and I'll get ya back, thanks.
Wow, 87 posts and a criticism? Maybe you should be more helpful. Pointing out that I'm trading away youth is obvious. A child could see that. That's the question, though, right? Does LT and Owens have a couple of years left enough to justify me giving away the youth? If I don't do the deal, as of now, I start Parker and Graham next year. That's not getting it done, and my 3rd pick probably won't help the RB situation any. Walter, btw, had 899 yrds and 8 TD's last year. It wasn't an addition to make or break the deal, just an attempt at getting more due to the leverage I had with him getting youthful players. Perhaps YOU should stick to keeping your trap shut.
I don't think that LT and T.O. have enought left in the tank to justify trading your youth away. I think that they both have 1 more stud year left in them. I really don't like the fact that he wants your 3rd pick, you really need to work on your Rb's and one of the rookie Rb's would be a great start. I would stick with what you have.
Wow, spider, look at how easy it was for Truniner to give friendly advice w/o being an ass! I obviously asked the question to gain an extra pair of knowledgeable eyes to look at the trade. Simply considering the trade is irrelevant. If it's close, I'm gonna ask, plain and simple. Why else is the cafe here? You expect me to say 'thank you' when you question my ability to even play a game that I was probably playing before you graduated high school? Try a simple 'I wouldn't do that trade' next time and you might find you'll make friends easier that way.
I would not because you lose too much here. You are in big trouble at RB and I think you can find a deal that beter suits your team. I think LT has a year or two with 10 or 9 TDs, Owns will help you this year, and Romo wil be fine. The kick for me in the trade is Johnson. He is more valuable than andy player you get. Ryan is more valuable than Romo in a year or so. So, essentially this trade is a 3rd pick for LT. Try offering that but know that you are mising out on Wells, Moreno, Brown, or McCoy by trading that 3rd pick.
I definately thing that the trade as proposed would be a stinker for you in the long run. You do need help at RB and WR. I think it just depends on if you want to go for it now or try to set your team up better for the future.
IMO, even with the trade, you wouldn't have enough to get it done now. I would keep what you have and try to shore up your RB and WR positions somehow.
If you DO decide to do the trade, I suggest one of these options: 1) Take the third pick out. You are already giving up more than enough. 2) Demand Darren Sproles too. If/when LT gets injured/wears out, you'll still have the SD running game locked up. They put the franchise tag on him for a reason. 3) Demand DeSean Jackson. After you trade away AJ, you have an aging Owens and...an aging Hines Ward. The rest is kind of "meh". No offense.
