Postby tantrix1969 » Tue Jul 14, 2009 7:46 pm

ok guy in my league is really after Kevin Smith and could prob get Westbrook for him,now if he had McCoy I would love to do this with me packaging someone else for the two of them.Anywhos would you make this trade straight up or do yall think Westie is just too big of a risk since I already have a decent back in Smith?

oh yea 12team h2h non-ppr

Not knowing anything else about your league or team or the other team makes it difficult to give much of an opinion, but particularly in a non-PPR, I'm skeptical about Westy. Granted Westy has put up some great numbers in the past, but the question is do you want the headache? I'm a play-it-safe type, and I wouldn't go out of my way to acquire Westbrook. If you have a strong RB bench, you could maybe afford a risk. If he/she is indeed 'really after' Smith, maybe you could get a sweeter deal.

I wouldn't make this trade.

it really depends on the rest of your RB's, but since this is a 12-teamer, im going to guess that they're not super-deep.

if the guy really has the hots for smith, id see if he would throw in a draft pick for next year, or package in an RB2/RB3.

I owuldn't do it. Smith puts up consistant numbers, Westy is up and down, coming off surgery, and 30. Consistancy wins for me every time.

I would do it. Westbrook is solid. Philly upgraded around Westbrook and he won't have all the pressure put on him. He is still going to make tons of plays and is overall a better player. I would find a way to do it.

better overall player does not equal better FANTASYY player. example - who would you rather have had on your fantasy squad last year- Tyler Thigpen or Jeff Garcia? Now who would you rather have had as your real life quarterback? If those answers aren't different, then something's wrong.

I would not make this trade. Westy is 30 and coming off an injury, that is a bad combo. Kevin Smith is one of the few backs that should not be in a RBBC this year. Westy has the higher ceiling, but he is not worth the risk IMO.
