I go with MBIII no questions. He was on pace for 1500yrs and 15TD last year before injury and the lose of F.Jones. Jones helps Barber big time. Gets him the breaks he needs and they should be out there together this year some times. #1 RB, Goal Iine back on a TD heavy team. No matter he is a lock for 1000+yrd and 10TD Lock.

K.Smith: I see as mid to high #2 RB this year but still has a crappy O-Line and a rookie QB. He might do well but I do not see him hitting MBIII #'s.

Hope that helps.

Agree with egg - even though he's a biased Cowboy fan.

Smith's ceiling is Barber's floor. Barber has the better line and offense. It's quite possible they end up with similar numbers, but that would occur because some unforseen negative event fouls up MBIII's season - like injury, either to him or some key teammates around him. Detroit's team at full health is comparable to an injury-decimated Cowboy team.

I like Barber over Smith and it's not even close. I just don't care for a RB on a bad team with a rookie QB. The Lions are going to be behind so much, that I don't see K. Smith with that many rushing attempts. It is hard to run the football when you are behind by 21 points. His value is a little higher in a PPR , but he is not close to Barber. I expect Barber to double Smith's TD total and easily out rush him.

Yea, gotta side with the crowd on this (even as a Cowboys fan :-b ). MB3 will be back in his ole TD vulturing and 4th quarter closer role this season and he will be reaping the rewards from Jones's and Choice's rushing. KSmith is younger, but that doesn't mean much in redraft leagues. Take the Cowboy and enjoy watching one of the most entertaining rushers in the league.

I am not as big of a Barber fan for 2009 as a few others, but I would still take him easily over Kevin Smith, mainly die to the reasons already discussed above.

I believe Detroit is also changing the blocking sceme that Smith had last year. Can't recall where I read that, can anyone confirm?
