What round to draft RB

Postby borderline fanatic » Thu Jul 16, 2009 3:11 pm

Hello,
I am in a standard espn scoring non ppr keeper league who starts 1Qb, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D. I was wondering what round the following players should be targeted for good value. By the waay I have the 11th pick out of 12 in a non-snake draft:

Here are my keepers
ADP
Gore
Lynch
B Marshall
D Bowe
T romo

What round on the following
Shonn Greene
Donald Brown
Rashard Mendenhall
James Davis
Lesean Mccoy (Rookie Philly)
Thanks

many websites give draft and mock draft results to show where players are going. I use http://www.antsports.com/adp.aspx b/c they show the average round and position, as well as their highestand lowest point drafted. you can use that as a fairly decent guide. I have for years. One tip - don't always draft for value - take the guy you want and fill out your roster the way you want WHEN you want. You are far more likely to get the team you want and be more successful. eg- if I want a guy, I may take him 2 rounds earlier than his "value" if I think he'll produce better than projected. Last year, drafting this way I broke all scoring records for my ten year old league (they laughed when I took Roddy White in the 3rd and Phillip Rivers in the 5th!)
The key to a winning season is focusing on one opponent at a time. Winning one week at a time. Never look back and never look ahead.

WoW you have 3 RB's 2WR's and a QB already all lagit starters. I would put some major value in D.Brown. All talks are that he will be the man this year and would be a killer keeper if that works out. Do you have a list of players in the pool?

Can you list the top 15 players that are going in the draft?

The problem is we do not turn in our keepers until the week before the draft and my wife is do during that time so I am trying to get a jumpp. Also, I am projecting that most of the talent that slips throught the cracks will already be taken by my pick 11 of 12 teams. I am considering donald brown, Owen Daniels, Lance moore, or maybe ocho stinko (not sure if he makes it to me.

hmnn... of those you named, I like Daniels and Moore. Daniels has been a top 3 TE in yards last two years, If he finds a TD a few more times, He could be #1. Lance moore is the underappreciated stud in NO- he could be the Boldin to Colston's Fitzgerald. Good article on the fantasy cafe's article page (link is on the left.)

Lance Moore had shoulder surgery in April so buyer beware on that guy. Insiders know that the Saints would like former first-round pick Robert Meachem to step it up and he's looked good in OTA's this year.

I wouldn't be too sold on Lance Moore, guys.
